as I said earlier this year, I think De La Rose is going to have a bigger impact with the Habs than Collberg would have. Collberg is a bubble player who has the potential to be great, if he ever finds a way to bring his offensive skills to the next level. De La Rose is more of a two-way player, who is closer to the NHL. He doesn't have the offensive skill set of Collberg, but he's bigger and better defensively.

I'm not saying anything about Colberg beyond it's starting to sound pretty similar to what people were saying immediately after McDonnaugh was traded for Gomez.

We all lost Stamkos and I lost Quick for a while. I should have asked a amateur scout for help.

I hope Collberg has a great career in the NHL and I hope Vanek stays in MTL longterm

believe me, I'm sad to see Collberg go, and I'm far from saying he's a bust.

Same thing with McDonagh, I was (frank)ing pissed that day...I'm pretty sure if we do the exercise of going back to the blog when it happened you would not find me saying "he was a bust anyway"

I didn't mean you per-say.

Truth is I can't believe how little Mtl had to give up to get Vanek.

He was with Subban and Fischer the Habs top D prospects at that point. (frank) I wish they had traded Fischer instead

Do you think Plek would freak if they decided to play Vanek with DD and Pax?

what surprises me the most is there is no 1st rounder if the Habs sign him

Plek has been waiting for a great winger since Kovalev left, I would be if I was him.

With Kesler hitting the market and Cammy also being available it really dropped the price for forwards. I'm kind of shocked the Pens didn't get anybody aside from Stepniak.

the 2nd is conditional on them making the playoffs(they were making the playoffs even without this trade)but the Islanders then have to send a 5th back. It's really a crazy deal.
Vanek has 61 points in 53 games against the Bruins. You really need to watch this and laugh.

It would be foolish to take Gallagher off that line, imo.

Did you see him at the world juniors? he was pretty good. Not a nothing prospect. That being said I love this move.

De la Rose played much better than Collberg at WJC while being a year younger. Again, very surprised by MB. It's a great move whether or not Vanek resigns.

Because Burke and Gillis didn't have to move them. Apparently Pitt offered Sutter, a 1st, and a 2nd next year....not enough. It did give GM's out there some leverage in deals IMO.

I would not be surprised to see them together again at some point, but I would think you don't touch DD's line and you put Vanek with Plek and Gally.

@bruce_arthur
I feel like if the Islanders really work at this, eventually the return on the Moulson-Vanek deal will amount to a paper clip.
