And if they're lucky they'll make it to the 2nd round of the playoffs.

why not? they are OK hockey players, nothing more. if they're part of a trade, they're part of a trade. hardly irreplaceable.

His plan consists in waiting for the prospects to pan out and riding on the coattails of his predecessors' picks?

If they're really going to give Markov multiple years I hope they trade Gorges.

if your not willing to trade your 3rd line centre or your 4-5 defencemen, what are you willing to part with?

Bergevin's got three moves:

- draft
- draft
- draft

Serisouly, I'd trade Eller. Desharnais has worked himself back in the good graces...Plekanec is the 2-way centre and Galchenyuk should have his training wheels removed. Eller as a 4th liner? no thanks...plus he'll probably ask for a raise...which he doesn't deserve.

Not sure to understand why Bergevin should trade a forward for a defenceman.

I think this team needs much more a winger to play with Plekanec than another defenceman.

What do you think of Burrows?

The guy who has yet to score in 31 games while playing with the god damn Sedins?

No thanks.

i don't know if that's a "plan" though. it's certainly not an active one, unless you consider him not forfeiting draft picks as being active.

seems like he's overly concerned with being the tough guy.

This is the sense I get as well. Not enough emphasis on offense.

A few days ago, I was discussing with fans of the canucks about that trade idea:

Eller + Bourque

for

Burrows + 2nd round pick

In his defense, the Sedins are not having their best season. They haven't scored in over 20 games either.
