Well put.
But Wilson made a couple good points. - hscesq
he's not the one who said the word "Nazi" either.
...but seriously, as stupid as I find it all, I think the Anglos in Montreal don't have "la couenne" very "dure". Leaving their homes and Province because of that?
...and they make jokes about the Francophones and the word "surrender"?

Meh. People got scared in the mid 70s when everything got more real, and so they left. It's such an awesome city and a great province, all this stuff just takes away from its beauty. |

He's tired?
Barry Wilson is tired? The Anglos are tired?
How (frank)ing tired are Francophones then? Not just in Qc, in all of Canada...
I'm not one to usually delve into these types of discussions, and I do think he has some good points... but he should shut the (frank) up with the "tired"...Francophones have been fighting for hundreds of years and had to endure deportation (not self-imposed exodus)...so (frank) you barry Wilson...(frank) you!

He can be tired. He's lived there his entire life. You don't have to like him being tired, but it's ok if he is. |

oh please. Anglos leave for one reason and one reason only: money. it's not a matter of whining and saying "waaaa im being persecuted by a fat female genitalia because i'm English". it's a matter of saying "hey, there's a better opportunity for me in _______"... it's not like Anglos are quitting their white-collar jobs and moving to Toronto to work at 7-Eleven. and agree with it or not, but Anglos do not feel as attached to this province as Francos. |

Exactly, they tried (and failed) in the assimilation of the French. I think there is a lot of ridiculous stuff going on, but going as far as saying Anglos are persecuted...female dog, please. |
