Same issues creeping up, suspect defence from the Canadiens. It seems like a 2-0 lead is our worst nightmare as they seem to always lay back a bit and then when the other team scores they sulk. Gotta get a better leader in the room or something to keep the guys focused.

At least the night ended well with the good guys winning.

Also, someone has to smear that punk kadri into the boards and teach him a lesson. He's such a ass out there. He made that penalty on weise, realizes he cocked it up and falls by himself to not make it look a penalty. In doing this his skates go right into the guys face and cuts him pretty bad. That's not a hockey play, that's a gutless punk playing like a idiot and then recklessly flopping himself around like punk. No wonder he's always in Toronto rumors. He must be a joke in the dressing room. He needs to be straightened out, quickly. Crosby had him pegged on the winter classic show. Rant over.

I'm thinking Eller is traded. Maybe gorges too. I know they want to trade Bork and gio but it's not going to happen. With all the rumors of Montreal being in on some big names I can't help but feel that we aren't picking up anyone unless they decide that Markov can't be resigned.

no doubt Markov is still the best defenceman on the team, problem is the team will not be good enough before Markov is 40 so you trade him now for parts that will be good hopefully when the rest of the team is good
- hamiltonhabfan

Problem is they don't want to go into the playoff without him. They don't believe they have a close replacement for him anytime soon.

BREAKING: Russia tells Ukrainian forces in Crimea to leave by Tuesday morning or face ‘military storm,' Russian state media says.

What a poop show.

Then,

Trade Emelin !

- WaterBoy

I'd trade Gorges before Emelin, I'd keep both. I think in a couple of years they're going to be really good 5th and 6th D men.

With disdain and curt words.

How do you think they'll react? With Military action?

- habby

Can't see that happening unless Russia decides to go over the top with their involvement.

when are the B2Bs?
i don't think he gets Phoenix. Phoenix is too winnable a game and must go to Budaj.
i would put him in for SJ or Anaheim. those are 2 zero-pressure games for him IMO. on the road in 2 relatively tame arenas, games that Montreal, even with Price in net, would be expected to lose handily.

- DoubleDown

I don't think they bring Price if there's zero chance he plays on this trip.

1. Trading Eller with his value in the poopter is not a winning proposition.

2. Trading Gorges at the trade deadline just isn't happening. Doesn't make any sense.

And if they're to chose between Gorges and Emelin down the line, pretty sure they're sticking with Gorges.

- EricEngels

That would be a mistake. You already know what you're getting from Gorges; Emelin brings much of the same, and still has room to improve.

A) I think it's Tinordi and Bealieu who are the 3 and 4.
B) what's the cap at? 4 mill with an 80+ mil cap isn't that big of a deal.

And he is big and hits hard. Much more important then Gorges. Gorges body will age very quickly. He is replaceable.

He used to play on the powerplay in the KHL... I always wondered why we kept seeing Gorges or Bouillon there instead of him in the 2nd wave...

They could have at least tried him.

The beaulieu demotion looked pretty strange saturday night with Gorges and Emelin manning the point on the PP.
