In the regular season?

Well, to his defense he never had the chance to play for a contender.

he plays 25 minutes a night. seems pretty valuable to me.
- sdopus

I'd have zero issue if they sign him for one year. I don't care how much.

His playoffs performance...different story.

I personally hope MB sticks to 2yrs at 6M/yr. Markov is one knee injury from retirement and he is 35, even if he retires, salary counts against the cap

The #coyotes send Rostislav Klelsa, Chris Brown and a fourth-round pick to the #caps for Martin Erat and prospect Garrett Mitchell.

You missed the point. He's never performed in the playoffs.

All the more reason to trade him if he doesn't sign a one year deal.

maybe on a team that doesn't have to use him as a number 1/2. he'd be perfect on a 2nd pairing and as a pp guy. a team with some actual depth will pay for that.

15% salary kept by Vancouver made it work

I don't think Bergevin has had a choice but to be patient.

I agree but by the same token, moves like today really make me question what is really going on behind the scenes.

Rangers had interest but were informed today that Ryan Kesler will not waive no-trade to come to New York, Post has learned.

- Symba.007

That's far from a stretch. His reason for wanting out of VAN is getting away from prying media. New York is not the answer.

Even as a 2 he's great. Someone is going to give him a 3 year deal as UFA, doesn't mean it should be the habs.

FLA though Markstrom was ready and the old ownership wanted nothing to do with his contract.
