Even as a 2 he's great. Someone is going to give him a 3 year deal as UFA, doesn't mean it should be the habs. - habby
agreed, just saying why should be eat sh*t on his last contact? that's all I mean. |

Waivers? - habby
They will not send him down. He will be moved. |

His playoffs performance...different story.
I personally hope MB sticks to 2yrs at 6M/yr. Markov is one knee injury from retirement and he is 35, even if he retires, salary counts against the cap - Symba.007

Erat traded for?
edit Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have acquired forwards Martin Erat (EE-rat) and John Mitchell from the Washington Capitals in exchange for defenseman Rostislav Klesla, forward Chris Brown and a fourth round draft choice in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. |

I hope he figures it out, like by tomorrow. my poorly articulated point is, there's no incentive for Markov to take one year, it's not like they're on the verge of a cup, so if 2 or 3 years are off the table, then trade the guy already. |

Well for one considering he missed half the playing time during his last contract he's have to be a really big Richard to think anyone was trying to make him eat "poop". If he wants to stay in Montreal he shouldn't be using the open market as a comparable. I don't think offering him year at 6 is an insult. |

insult, no. but why would he do that? seriously? as a business person why would he when everyone knows he'll get 3 years elsewhere. it's the dumbest debate ever. |

A)I don't know is he's ever shown any evidence of that at any time.
B)Beaulieu,Tinordi and Pateryn all have to be on the roster at the same time for that to happen. |

I know that no current player on the team has logged more minutes in the last season and a half. |

meh, as he gets on shelter his minutes. right now he's not making any less mistakes than he did in the past and the ones he is making weren't the same. He's adjusting with the lack of mobility and he'd be fine with 2 yrs physically I think.
I don't think MTL is way out of contention in the East, add a big forward in the top 6 and they might surprise. Hell Price might rupture his groin yadda yadda. |

Short of someone offering something that can't be refused, Markov is going nowhere |

Something else to keep in mind is that with all the time he missed with the tendon slice and knee rebuild it may have actually added time to the end of his career.
