I'm not saying it's impossible, I'm just saying it seems highly unlikely that a player as he gets older is going to have some physical benefit for having missed time due to injury.

The only example I can think of is Jagr. And I don't think Markov is in that type of shape, but I could be wrong.

I agree. I think his knee is healed and no more likely to be injured than if he never had surgery. But we're talking about a guy who has gotten hurt a fair amount in his career. You really think he's not getting hurt again just in general?

Clearly there are no guarantees in regards to any future new injuries, he's no different than any other player in that regard.

I get the depth move..although it wasn't a must...

I just don't get why the timming of it.
