Do you think the "average Joe" fan in Van thinks they're out of it AND will accept a rebuild? I don't mean people that post on boards. - mohel

I am not an expert, except in my own mind, but that can not be a good thing. But then he did sell the Hawks on the dazzling skills of one Peter (frank)ing Regin. - Elbows15
Good ole number 12

Bollig for 1,2? WTF are they thinking? Seems like a fair deal to me. Kid has played in a shut down role all season and has done a damn good job of it too. DK mentioned PK for Bollig. Wouldn't be surprised in the least to see him move to that role next season after another off-season of working on his skating. IMO, there is room for even more improvement in that area. Specifically in the end of his stride. - Elbows15
4th line has been arguably at least the third best / most consistent line on the team, sometimes second. |

He would most like end up on the bottom pairing with Tanev, that was more my point......not that we need him due to the emergence of Stanton - Whiskey-Tango
Right because Stanton has made a huge difference in the Canucks barely playing over .500 this season |

Don't know what more to say...I wrote about this stuff yesterday and Bowman was pretty clear about how many calls he is getting and his attitude about the TDL.
Rumors start for many reasons and almost always they never lead to a pre published trade. ....Actually can't remember both sides being rumored correctly with all the pieces in the last 8 yrs.
Much of the stuff that is rumored now are bigger deals...Remodeling type of trades and they don't happen for very good teams this time of year.
Blues were different as they traded a goalie and same type of player and the money worked.
But their GM never came out and said they were not looking at deadline trades and that he really liked his team.
Halak for Miller has been talked about for months...and this time that part came true.
What's up Hawk fans? Pirri dealt, Bollig re-upped 3 ys- No more dmen playing forward: Comments on Bowman presser-3/2:http://bit.ly/1g2xhzw - Al
It is just interesting to hear at one time from Stan that he's not even getting calls, and to also hear that the Hawks are discussing trading for all these guys. And I know and believe the reporting by you and JJ is accurate about what was said. But you've answered about what your position is, so thanks. |

I'm starting to think he might hold onto Kesler and deal him at the draft. I just saw something that the Pens aren't willing to part with a player or 2 that he really wants. Of course there might be a surprise team like Philly overpaying. Edler is one to watch, though. I like Kulikov. I wonder what the price for him is? |

Ladd not worth the bother? What exactly does that mean? He was here long enough and is deemed a solid citizen. Like most rumors due to salary cap it is difficult to make a trade work.
With New Jersey, how is it Josephson name pops up. Is he too small to play regularly? The Devils are still lacking quantity and maybe quality of top young offensive talent. This former #1,available? Why would Chicago want a smallish center? To bring him means he has to be looked at as a future #2 center. Hard to fathom that.
Here is something we can expect: TT next step is playing in the spring - time of season World Championship which takes place somewhere in Europe. I recall Toews played there I believe before turning pro. He had chemistry on a line with an established pro at that time; I cannot remember if it was Down or someone else. Anyway,,this is a logical and beneficial next step and we should watch to see how well TT competes in a step up in competitive play. Might next be Rockford if the Icehogs are in the playoffs. |

Well, to do so he'll need to give up a roster player to match at least half the incoming salary. And the other team needs to actually want the guy you'll give up... So, put me down for a no. |

I believe it was E. Kane who was deemed not worth the bother.

Weak skater, weak on the puck, weak defensively but he is a smart player and can create offense. The Blackhawk game is based around good hockey IQ, strong skating, defensive awareness and puck control. Pirri shows well in only one category. There was never a chance for him in Chicago. I hope he plays well for the Panthers. - paulr

Ok. My bad. That makes sense. No Kane double up in Chicago. |

If Kessler's healthy, I make that deal - even throw in a second/third rounder. With Clendenning and Danault and TT waiting in the wings, the only loss is Bickell, who's a monster in the playoffs. Leddy played sparingly in the playoffs and McNeil is nothing... But Kessler and Kane - thats too good to pass up.
I would not give up TT for him though. I'm sure thats what Gillis is holding out for... - busmaster
Kesler = Elite NHL Player
TT = Good European Player MAYBE good NHL player
Winning today Kesler is probably the safer bet. Also Gillis is a huge pooh face and doubtful he trades a player of that caliber in conference. |

Kesler has become injury prone. He's been trending down enough that he's playing wing now for Van (although Torts is an idiot, so this could be on him). Kesler of old, I'm all in. Old Kesler, I'm not so sure. I'd be glad to have him, but not for an elite-level haul. And I think Van would need an elite-level haul to trade him, especially to the Hawks. |
