Given Bollig's new contract I thought it was a good time to revisit this. Now it's obvious why he got the big money deal.

Does that mean he's about to be traded? Like when a police officer on a TV show is 3 days from retirement, that means he's going to die a hero? - Lash8
Morin has ability and would score too in NHL. He is fiesty but skates maybe too slow. Only way he makes it in NHL is if he gets an opportunity sometime with another team. |

Maybe just a slight change of nuance (?), but I thought Stan said he wasn't getting calls because other teams knew he wasn't going to deal off of the roster. - StLBravesFan
Could be, but the rumors (lots of them) are that the Hawks are talking about high-end guys who could only come if a roster player comes back. And Bickell going the other way is in a lot of the rumors. My own guess would be that he'll do something big if it is a steal, and that his public statements are posturing to paint a picture of strength to other GM's, and low expectations for fans. |

JJ, hadn't read the other posts, late to the dance. I chimed in before, SB can sooth the little ducklings (team) & fans all he wants. 19 & 88 have AAA LOUD voice that uncle john & Daddy Rocky can hear. and if 88 wants Kesler if the Canucks are willing to deal, you can bet SB will be told to "get it done"! JMO, that is all. let's just wait & see. TT is something to look forward to for the future (hopefully the hawks don't get stupid and trade him)along with the possibility of 29 being shipped out! |

Morin had the best possession numbers in a relatively short amount of time. IF allowed enough games to see his shooting % average out I think he would be OK. His skating really isn't that terrible and he will dig in the corners. Really got an unfair shake while up here. |

People I talk to in Winnipeg tell a different story on Kane. All I'll say. But . . . one's man's trash is another man's treasure. The kid has all the tools. But some say, he is one.
As for what I think the Hawks will do. Probably much as Al has reported and I have as well. Surprised you missed that.
Maybe a reserve defenseman. Maybe a 3rd/4th liner who can kill penalties.
Does that mean that they haven't made a run at Kesler or didn't at Nash or Carter and others in years past. I will tell you. No, it doesn't mean they didn't make runs at those players. I'm 99% certain they did. - John Jaeckel
My depth forward prediction is Manny Malhotra. Good faceoff guy. Brings leadership. Can play on the PK. Not a sexy move, but serviceable |

Kuc says: Morin has been selected as the CCM/AHL Player of the Month for February.
Didn't Pirri get that this year too? - StLBravesFan
Given what it did for Pirri, perhaps Morin will turn it down? |

I'm sorry, but Kesler is not elite. He's very good but he's not elite. I wouldn't take Kesler over Toews, Kane, Sharp or Hossa. I wouldn't take him over Saad either. - DarthKane
Straight up I'd trade Saad for Kesler and not factoring in the intagible of leader/glue guy I'd trade Sharp for him as well. |

If the price is right then I don't have a big issue getting Kesler. While he still will play well for the duration of his deal his best days are certainly behind him. Kesler isn't the type of guy I'd sell the farm for. |

Kesler has become injury prone. He's been trending down enough that he's playing wing now for Van (although Torts is an idiot, so this could be on him). Kesler of old, I'm all in. Old Kesler, I'm not so sure. I'd be glad to have him, but not for an elite-level haul. And I think Van would need an elite-level haul to trade him, especially to the Hawks. - mohel
Kesler is not injury prone. He had missed six games in the last five years prior to last season when he couldn't make it back at the start of the season due to surgery. |

He is 29, had a fantastic Olympics and has like 21 goals in 61 games on a Vancouver team in tatters. Explain to me how his best days are gone? |

You're right. Someone's going to trash their own professional reputation because you egg them on over an internet message board. Bravo. You're showing me up, the source up. You are the King.
The thing is, and I have heard you brag about your education before etc.—you know what you know.
You have no idea what you don't know.
Do you? Answer. No. So this is a stupid argument.
We are arguing about something that you know nothing about. And since I won't tell you in a million years—in order to protect a source—you never will.
If you don't like it, sue me. Otherwise, go play outside. - John Jaeckel

I thought last year had the injury to start the season and another one during the season that cost more time. Hasn't he had several injuries in the past few years (foot and shoulder, at least, I think) that have piled up on him. His production the past two full seasons dropped quite a bit from his earlier standards. I think that is attributable to injuries. If not, there still is that drop in production. |

He doesn't miss games but he plays hurt. Kudos for the effort puts forth but when he plays hurt he's not nearly as effective.
There's no need for everyone to get their panties in a knot, I doubt Kesler is being traded but if he is it won't be here. |

Has never played an NHL or AHL game. Because there is no adjustment period.
Remember when Kruger was the next best thing to cross the Atlantic and gonna play the 2C... Now eating 10 minutes / night even strength and exclusively killing penalties. Awesome how that worked out as a viable solution. Solid player, good at his role but at least, not today, a 2C.
Now to expect a player with the same build and maybe more advanced skill set to come over and start burning down the barn seems a bit absurd. |

Something I find interesting (not that you care, Elbows....), is that we've got all these rumors and info about trades leaking all over the joint, and NOBODY can get a phucking peep about an injury unless it is very long term, like an ACL. Janitors, trainers, coaches, secretaries, et al, are blabbing to everyone about who the Hawks are after, but nobody will even say what stinking part of Hossa's body is hurt! |

Is it really necessary for a highly skilled guy to come here and need a lot a time on the farm to be better than Pete Phucking Regin? |
