I am not about to try to compare Bickell,
Kesler or
Saad,
but
if you TRADE Saad, you lose a whole lot off the presnet roster, and even all the superlatives I could say I have for kesler, he doesn't have what the young horse has.
Kesler for Saad might make us a tougher contender in some aspects and give the fans the 2nd line centre they have been "waiting" for, but long term I don't know if you can replace that...
Bickell is replaceable, Saad is too quick all around and far too dangerous to send off in a trifling. |

6628 is Pulford? - Elbows15
I think JJ said the source is worshiped here.
I'm not ruling it out but unless we have satanists here it aint Pulford. |

I'm sorry, but why is everyone reverting to using Kesler as "injury-prone" when describing him? He hasn't missed a game this year, and prior to last year he played in at least 77+ games for five straight seasons.
Yes he missed time last year due to injury, but that doesn't mean he's injury prone |

No one knows if there would be an adjustment period or not. That is the point.
He could come over, pull a Peter Forsberg and put his balls all over everyone's face. OR he could end up confused and manhandled by the bigger stronger and faster players on a smaller surface. Or somewhere between. Wont know until he is on the ice.
Regin is what he is. Serviceable role player. But you know exactly what you will get when you put him on the ice.
In my opinion, to get a player who will make an immediate impact and if he truthfully is available you overpay for Kesler. Not super desperate but some combination of Bickell (to make the money work), Leddy, Shaw, Kruger, Picks, should get the job done. I would trade Seabrook straight up for him but that's just like my opinion man and it isn't a popular one. - fattybeef
I thought you said earlier that nobody could come over without an adjustment period, so thanks for clarifying. They can put TT out there for 9 games and see what happens without burning a year on his ELC.
On the Kesler front, I'm not going anywhere near as far as you to get him. Especially not Seabrook. But that's what makes the internet go 'round.

My depth forward prediction is Manny Malhotra. Good faceoff guy. Brings leadership. Can play on the PK. Not a sexy move, but serviceable - eburgio
I would be ok with that. |

Straight up I'd trade Saad for Kesler and not factoring in the intagible of leader/glue guy I'd trade Sharp for him as well. - paulr
You would trade a 21 year old with upside for a broken down 29 year old? And the Sharp for Kesler? |

I agree 100% , I love Kesler, but we don't know Saads Ceiling yet. I'm not saying it will be as high as Kesler's current level, but I wouldn't do that trade. Kesler has an injury history as well, as much as I like him I would pass 100%...especially with Sharp not showing any signs of slowing. |

Probably because Bickell couldn't sniff Kesler's jock in terms of pure talent? That might have something to do with it. - CaptainBlackhawk
Torts might be the kind of coach that thinks he can turn Bickell into a Lucic-type player, a power forward who can dictate a game. What good is talent when you can't win with it? Might as well use it in any way you can. |

Malhotra is worlds better than Regin. Also a much better option if someone goes down. I don't get the lord in the sky reference. TT?
Edit. Never mind. Got it. |

I get the insurance part, but just don't see them adding a PK guy, there's no room, Bollig will play IMO.

It is just interesting to hear at one time from Stan that he's not even getting calls, and to also hear that the Hawks are discussing trading for all these guys. And I know and believe the reporting by you and JJ is accurate about what was said. But you've answered about what your position is, so thanks. - mohel
What Bowman volunteered was he is not getting many incoming calls...basically because it is known that he isn't looking to deal off the roster at this time.
As he said his deadline deal was Kris Versteeg and they wanted to add to the team early and not at the deadline.
I'm sure there are some calls...He did trade Pirri and it wouldn't surprise me if there is another deal or two.
What John is writing is a lot different than what I wrote about Bowman's press conference.
I wrote quite awhile ago I thought there was a good chance Pirri would be gone by the deadline. That was me connecting the dots and not based on any whispers.
What's up Hawk fans? Pirri dealt, Bollig re-upped 3 ys- No more dmen playing forward: Comments on Bowman presser-3/2: http://bit.ly/1g2xhzw

Just venturing a guess who SB would look for as a depth move. Could play 4C and it wouldn't miss a beat. Given all the pretender to the 2C position who have played there, Kruger could handle it as well as anyone, IMO. Might be better than most because of his tenacity along the walls. |

I think 2C negates a lot of positive aspects of his games and Q's ability to deploy the forward lines in such a favorable manner. |
