Since we are talking about other sites, where did everyone start? A lot of old-timers here might have the same history. 1st message board I tried was probably around 1997? It was called plaidworks out of san jose. A guy Frank29 was on there then starting blackhawkzone. That was great. As was biscuit babble on the blueline website. Hopefully this won't cause trouble since these are very old sites

I read HF boards and comment under a different name. This board is a gazzillion times better, but I like that there's an all NHL thread. I think the CTA guys are idiots. Pirri worshippers. In the Pirri blog they wrote he "largely impressed in his NHL stints". That's a phucking joke.

Just got home, its coming. Also on CTA one guy listed Sweden as his darkhorse pick for the Olympics. The second best team in the tournament.

I used to post at the Daily Herald under a different name until you had to pay to play. JJ posting there is what led me here....and I've been here ever since

Fantasy question.

Points only keeper league, who would you keep between Pavelski or Steen and why?

Always read articles and posts on the internet, never got around to properly posting things anywhere until 2007 or 08 on throwaway accounts on various sites. From slogging through the sh*te ESPN comments for gamedays for a couple years, I eventually made it here.

Started lurking here for the first Cup run, eventually made an account when i headed back over here for grad school, as i knew nobody really was that arsed with hockey from my first tour over here.

- prd797

Yeah this place has definitely grown over the years. I was lurking here probably since 2008? Took me awhile to join. I wouldn't go near that ESPN site

Pavelski. He stays healthy and rarely misses time. He has put up consistent numbers over the course of his career. Taking nothing away from Steen. Probably has a bit better of an overall game. But for whatever reason the guy misses time.

A lot of those guys are big on the 'play the kids' bandwagon. I always imagine those guys nearing a heart attack Superfans-style when they see a guy like Bollig solidifying a spot in the lineup instead of a Morin, #37, etc. (Not saying Morin hasn't played himself into a good spot to get another recall, don't need people to get their knickers in a twist).

I still enjoy the blogs anyway though. It certainly doesn't hurt to have differing perspectives. Obviously the reason I post here too is for differing opinions and the banter, though if you ask TG its a circlejerk in an echochamber

That's a fargin' trick question! Just a little Johnny Dangerously humor. Tough call on the question. I've had Steen all year, and he's closer to his normal production since his return from injury. He was cookin' early in the year. He also has his new paper, so who knows how he reacts to that?

This board is better than HF. I still go there every night, though. Just went a few minutes ago. I don't go to any of the Hawk ones since Stuy's place at 300 level. JJ used to post there. Always very informative posts, too. I think he started at HF. A few people here I have seen post at HF
