If you read 30 thoughts by Friedman, one of his points is an email exchange with SB. SB basically said I keep telling you guys I'm not going to make any big trades but you won't listen.

Ek posted the Hawks are standing pat.

So they are on the verge of acquiring Kesler and Vanek.

TT will be a Black Ace....They would rather see him up here and let those who have played in Rckfrd. play in the AHL if they are alive.

Bowman said they would look to bring him over after his season...By that I'm pretty sure he meant to be in Chicago.

As far as playing every game....TT, after his playoffs will have had a long year.

If you need measuring stick: Marcus Kruger 2011. Same age, same stage of development, coming off a good year in the Swedish Elite Pro league. Came over, played and contributed down the stretch and in the playoffs.

They're probably not the same kid: TT has the higher skill level, Kruger has the heart of a world champ prizefighter.

But I also don't think you can say TT has never seen physical competition or won't be ready to contribute in some way. It's a nice card for Bowman to have.

But I wish he could kill penalties and privde energy like Frolik.

Glad Pirri is going to get a shot somewhere in the NHL. I just hope that if Handzus goes down this Regin can fill in, because you just drastically shortened the depth you have down in Rockford. Cue the "Well if the Hawks needed Pirri at any point they were f'd....." and I get that, but lets remember that if Handzus gets hurt.

Hossa took a nasty shot at Soldier Field. I bet it's a mild separation. He was sitting on the bench, but when he did leave to head off after the 1st period he was holding his arm against his side pretty good, which is a HUGE tell of a shoulder injury. The off time hopefully will enable him to be as healthy as he can be for the stretch run...

I don't see the Hawks making any trades. I don't discount anything that John has posted, but the asking price for Vancouver is a 20-25 yr old PROVEN NHL center, a top prospect and a pick....So the Bickell/Leddy/McNeil offer may have never been looked at seriously by Gillis.

I don't think anyone can deny the west is very even right now...and a trade by Anaheim (Vanek) or LA (Moulson) would be tough to overcome. I don't expect Bowman to do much at all...because he's up against the cap already.....so all these big names have as good as a shot landing in Chicago as I do piloting a 747 next to Olgi.

I do feel bad for Kane...will we EVER see how good this guy can be or is he going to be stuck playing with piles of crap at 2c as a Hawk? Has to be taking a toll on 88 mentally. Lots of pressure for him to create AND produce on that line...Can't be overlooked.

No, Q knows everything, he won two Cups and has the 3rd most wins ever... How dare you question his personal decisions.

Seriously though, sucks for him and sucks for fans of the sport to see one of the most exciting players in the league getting neutered by his own coach \ front office.

Brian Lawton, former TB GM, tweeter that there is a three way deal in the works with Kesler ending up with Hawks. I would be shocked but seems odd he would be that specific about it.

Remember when Versteeg and Sharp were one of the best penalty killing tandems in the NHL...

It does really suck for him to have 2 Cups by 25 years of age, and a Conn Smythe.

To me, though, the main thing is the team's performance. I'm less concerned about how Kane is doing than how the team is doing. But that's just me....

There's a joke in there somewhere about Kesler and a 3-way, given the rumors about his extra-curriculars....

Seriously....you do know there is a hard cap and it decreased 6 or so million from last year.....and this same Stanley guy you light up is the same guy who was able to keep most of the cup winning team together......in a hard cap year..........
- UnnamedSource

Yes...I do realize that. I also realize he is the same who paid Corey Crawford 6 million a year until the apocalypse and gave Bickell that nice deal.

Oh...hold on...Eklund is NOW reporting the Hawks are standing pat. Wow....shocker.

I agree. I don't think he has been neutered by his coach or front office. That seems a little out there. Would you like to see him have a stud center to play with? Sure. But in order to do that, you need to sacrifice depth up and down the lineup. Besides, Kane always finds himself playing with Toews when it matters most (the playoffs).

Agreed. Lot of pressure on Kane to make guys around him a lot better. Making Michael Handzus and the great Regin relevant will be his greatest trick yet. He pulls that off, they should give a show in Vegas to compete against Cris Angel.

I think he's back under his desk playing with his prospect action figures....

Maybe TT just swooped in and rescued McNeil from the dark lord Pirri.
