What is also not mentioned is that he became Jordan only after his coach convinced him that they would not win unless Jordan made his team better rather than looking at them as anchors.

I think Kane is much less concerned about the personal stuff than is fattybeef.

I'm kinda hungry now.....maybe I will go to Portillo's and get a beef.....

Ducks covet Bickell per JJ's source

Ducks trade a Bickell clone for a pick

Lawton says there is a mysterious 3 way trade out there that gets Kesler to Chicago

Anaheim/Chicago/Vancouver?

who knows? The anticipation grows....

Right...and Kane has Toews, Hossa, Sharp, Saad....

Even so...comparing hockey to basketball is where you lose me.....

I agree. I was just making a point about Jordan. that is all.

You'll never hear any GM tell the media what he is trying to do, only what eventually happens. If Bowman refuses to gut sucked into a trade he's not comfortable with that's a good thing for the hawks.

It seems like this is consistent with his makeup. Does it seem that way to you?

John Shannon (SportsNet) estimated the salary cap won't get to 70M next year because of the shrinking canadian dollar. It was estimated that the cap would be over 71M next year...that's a sizeable gap.

Yes, Kane and Toews are important, just like Crosby, Getzlaf, etc. They're all important, but those two aren't any more important to the NHLPA than they are to the Hawks

- eburgio

Exactly...and if Hammer would've hit the open market he would've paid #1 D money.....and he took a discount.

Mark Spector on twitter just made an interesting point. Oilers started the year with Dubnyk and Lebarbera as their goalie, now have Scrivens and Fasth. Vast improvement.

I would be surprised if 3 WC teams pull off a trade together at the deadline.....

Eric Stephens ‏@icemancometh 5m
Ducks send the fourth they got from Washington to Dallas to acquire Robidas. So, in effect, it's swapping Penner for Robidas.

Darren Dreger ‏@DarrenDreger 2m
Fasth to the Oilers for a 5th in 2014 and 3rd in 2015.

As would I......

I would LOVE to get Kesler. Guy is a beast and raging red @ss. He and Toews down the middle.....

However, the reality is....probably not....

Fasth to EDM, 2014 5th rd pick and 2015 3rd rd pick to Anaheim (sounds like a familiar return) for a quality goalie. Hawks got that for an unproven AHL all star

Yep, seems that way. But if he always insists on getting the better of a deal he won't have many trading partners going forward. I would like to see him make a bigger splash involving a trade for bigger names where both teams get what they need. A win win like that would open the doors for him with the rest of the GM's in the league he hasn't already worked with. At least in my opinion.

I expected they'd go for one of Vanek or Callahan.

That is a good point. His trading partners have been pretty limited so far, and that could be why.

The Ducks have $13,000,000 in cap space, the could be very active.

I cannot wait til this trade deadline passes. A) these far fetched trade scenarios are ridiculous, B) I need to get some work done, C) I'd rather go back to extolling the virtues of Pirri at #2C

Not a chance. Just seeing if you were paying attention.

BTW...not cool talking about Portillo's. You got me hungry. Their burgers are vastly underrated.
