Not a chance. Just seeing if you were paying attention.

BTW...not cool talking about Portillo's. You got me hungry. Their burgers are vastly underrated.

I just had Japanese steakhouse leftovers from last night... OMG!

Its a three year deal and after this year....with all of the goalie FA's he will be cheap. Bickels deal will also be cheap when the term is finished......the cap will keep rising and 4 million per will be what 2.5 million is today.
- UnnamedSource

We all keep saying that - these will be cheap contracts as the cap goes up - but you can get into a lot of trouble by saying that, especially in the first year(s) of some of these contracts: next year, cap is $71MM - you still have to add up all of those "cheap" contracts.

I did a Hawks projection for 2015-2016 (first year of the new 19/88 contracts) - several weeks ago, updated it (kind of) this week:

Kane - 9,000
Toews - 9,000
Sharp - 5,900
Hossa - 5,275
Bickell - 4,000
Kruger - 2,500
Saad – 3,000
Versteeg – 2,200
Shaw - 2,000
Bollig – 1,250
Smith - 750
One - 750
One – 1,000
One - 1,000

14 Forwards = 47,625

Seabrook - 5,800
Keith - 5,538
HJ - 4,100
Leddy - 3,000
Someone - 1,000
Someone - 750
Someone - 750
7 Defensemen = 20,938

Crawford - 6,000
One = 1,000
2 Goalies = 7,000

23 players = 75,563
Am I dramatically off anywhere?

Hopefully not...I like CC just don't like the deal.
- SteveRain

You're not looking at the deal from an organizational perspective, that's why. There is something about Crawford the decision makers in the organization likes a lot. For whatever his flaws are, he is a fighter. There is something to be said for that.
Secondly and more important, imo, is the current state of goalies in the system. At best guys like Simpson and Carruth are 3 years away. Having a known quantity for that time period is a good thing. What do you think goalies are going to cost in a couple of years? I will bet its more than 6 mil. I agree the 1st couple of years will be high. After that. Doubtful.

Michael Russo @Russostrib

#mnwild picks up roughly 475K of Bryzgalov's cap hit/cash by my math. If Fletcher wanted, can still add roughly $3M player w/o giving up one

Based on this tweet's thought process, if the Isles foot half the bill, a trade could work out to see Vanek go to Minnesota.

Teravainen makes 925k, so you save some there on the $1 million player.

EDIT: deleted part that makes me look like I can't read.

Funny bringing up Jordan.....we all know he was the best to ever live and to compare him and his motivations to Kane is ridiculous. What is not mentioned is how Jordan took less money so he could build a team around him.....what is not mentioned is how Jordan would rather have more than the six NBA Championships than a scoring title or MVP.......what is also not mentioned is how the dynamic of basketball is different than hockey....but hey if it helps fit the narrative then include it in the body of evidence to support your point.

Oh and Jordan also played with Bill Wennington, Jud Buechler, Luc Longley & Dennis Hopkins to name a few.....

- UnnamedSource

When did Jordan take less so he could build a team around him?

He was under contract for a couple more years when he left the first time - Reinsdorf continued to pay him his NBA contract while he was fooling around with the White Sox - contract ended after his first year back - then signed for over $30MM per year for his last two years.

The end of his penultimate contract was certainly lower than market - but it was a sevven year contract (I think) - and was paid for the two years he was out of the NBA.

Jordan also had Pippen, Rodman, Ron Harper, Tony Kukoc as well.....lets not discount the role players that were very good. Pippen alone.

Didn't the Bulls make the conference finals when Jordan was off getting rehab for his gambling problem?

- SteveRain

No - lost to the Knicks in the second round, lost to Orlando in the second round the year Jordan came back in March.

I prefer Al's. Pops does a nice job with the combo too. I do like Portillo's burgers though. Also had Portillo's cater my girl's grad parties and the food was very good.

First off, its stupid to think Kane could outscore Crosby. He can't and won't ever. Second, tell me how many goals Brandon Pirri and Patrick Kane combined for. Third, if you were getting frustrated go score a phucking goal, it's not like he hasn't had chances. Fourth, Patrick Kane just had his best regular season playing with nobody, it doesn't really matter who's on his line.
- rollpards19

That is the point and yes it does. He can totally match Crosby if there is someone to create space or finish when he gets triple teamed.

Way off topic here. But if anyone is having a kid;s party and needs cartering. If there is a Rosati's near you, get their fried chicken. It is delish. Put a couple of pieces on the side for yourself though. It will be gone quickly.

Would be cooler to repeat and collect smoar hardware.

Toss a Hammer Norris trophy in there because he probably deserves one.

Its not a place you would think of for that PRD. It was the one thing everyone went back for more. Couldn't put it out fast enough.
