Funny bringing up Jordan.....we all know he was the best to ever live and to compare him and his motivations to Kane is ridiculous. What is not mentioned is how Jordan took less money so he could build a team around him.....what is not mentioned is how Jordan would rather have more than the six NBA Championships than a scoring title or MVP.......what is also not mentioned is how the dynamic of basketball is different than hockey....but hey if it helps fit the narrative then include it in the body of evidence to support your point.
Oh and Jordan also played with Bill Wennington, Jud Buechler, Luc Longley & Dennis Hopkins to name a few..... - UnnamedSource
Silly, Jordan wanted the ball at every single opportunity to bury the other team. He wanted to be THE guy and was. Any other thought is nostalgic glamorization of a sports cliché.
Scottie Pippen was probably the best sidekick in the league and he was surrounded with complimentary players that WORKED in the triangle offense.
The proper personal was acquired to build around their core to make Jordan successful in the system Phil Jackson wanted to play and basketball flourished as a result. Surrounding the best player in the league with complimentary players who can succeeded in that system was a big part of that puzzle as well.
Players that cannot skate or drive possession are not complimentary players to a highly skilled dynamic player in any sport. And being a higher echelon player, playing with junk is insanely frustrating regardless of how the team is doing. To think otherwise is a blatant lack of an understanding of sports in general. |

Its not a place you would think of for that PRD. It was the one thing everyone went back for more. Couldn't put it out fast enough. - Elbows15
Our family always had an eye for good Italian joints. Local chains, one-offs, national chains, didn't matter.
My old man always sampled various types of chicken from the different restaurants. Always talked about the value of a good side dish. Wouldn't surprise me that Rosati's could do chicken right. Underrated dish to get with a pizza or pasta IMO.
The Turks that run the pizza takeaways here don't understand good food combinations . Its Pizza, Kebab, Panini, Chips, or don't bother ordering. |

Johnnie's combo dipped w/giardaneira and a lemon ice. - Return of the Roar
Is that the place on harlem near the cemetery?
I never have beef if it isn't dipped AND hot giardeneria.
I will say this...I have to work around things and get all the stuff for beef from Restaurant Depot down here since the few Chicago hot dog beef places charge far more than they should.
but the last few trips back home to the city also meant out to the god awful suburbs of St. Charles to visit my wife's sister, and there are always Portillo's one every route there...There are NONE that I know of in the city, because we actually go to the various local places for a beef samwitch.
Anyway have tried the Portillo's suburban beef and to me....it was really REALLY good. |

Ultimately depends on what you order. Pepper and Egg Combo on a friday was sublime for me. Shakes and Italian Ice weren't too bad either. |

On North Avenue, in between Harlem and Thatcher. Near Alpine Deli, a decent sandwich place. |

Any other thought would be correct actually. You're wrong on this, fatty. Jordan was all solo until Jackson convinced him to be more of a team player. You can look it up, if your mind is open. Early Jordon doesn't pass to Paxson with the title on the line.
The lesson - which Kane has learned, but you haven't - is that when a great player does things to help his team first, his team wins and he gets the just rewards. |

That'd be great if Johnnies switched to doing that, but I'd doubt they'd change it. Makes the Fridays that much more special, in a sense. |

And the small fact that Kane has never said a word publicly about it. Sure as hell doesn't strike me as someone who is unhappy.
EDIT: And Kane wants the puck on his stick in big moments. |

Oh and that was a helluva trade for the Blues on Friday.
Shoring up the net with Miller is a big add. No more soft goals allowed by Halak. Miller only facing 20 shots a game will keep him fresh...Guy had a .923 sv percentage behind that crap in Buffalo...
And then there is Ott.....Great add. STL will be an extremely tough out...
but I know....phuck the blues.....silly me. - SteveRain
Silly??? It looks like the Blues made a trade, but your pants got wet with excitement.
Maybe they shouldjust call the playoffs OFF now....
Explain to me which one Ott, or Miller is gonna score the goals they will need and didn't get, and which one is gonna get to the loose pucks and not give them up like their team did last playoff.
So they made a playoff trade...thing about it, if you don't win, you lost...on losts of differenct levels.
I am happy for them.
Maybe not as much as you are though.... |

Where's is Johnnies?
On North Ave. in Elmwood Park. - Elbows15
Yeah, well, next time I am on my way out of the city, to go to the Kiddieland Shrine, or to Russell's BBQmemorial on Thatcher, I'll look for it.
When I was a kid there was a Al's hot dogs at
1240 W. Chicago Ave, just west of where the dug out the Kennedy expressway.
As was the fashion, they had dogs and beef.
I was never really sure if this Al's Hot dogs was one of the original part of the chain now established...just new the dogs fries and beef were excellent.
It is funny this was brought up, because I havea friend coming over next Tuesday to work arund my house here in St. Pete, FL and he didn't want to here about the work ...just if the menu was Italian beef so I went out and got the Taylor Street (Elwood Park processed) Beef and Vienna gravy today. I will do the peppers the day of, and I always have several jars of Giardeneria from Bari Grocery store in my old neighborhood around.

Supposedly, Jackson to Jordan: "There is no 'I' in team".

And it has never shown in his play, imo. He slumps, like the rest of the humans other than Crosby, but he just does not seem like a "me" guy to me. Fatty seems more concerned about how well Kane does as opposed to the team. The reason Kane gets the weak link is because he's good enough to make that line dangerous and it allows the Hawks to have balanced lines. |

I expect that the comeback will be along these lines - "but why doesn't Toews ever get stuck with the weak link?"..... |
