From the looks of it an undersized offensive defenseman.

Their description:

'An offensive defenseman, Brisebois is a shifty skater and has great puckhandling skills. Eager to jump up and join the rush, he has learned how to pick his spots better as he has matured. He has great vision in the offensive zone and moves the puck well, as well as displaying a great shot and the patience to get it on net. Only average sized for a defenseman, he will also need to improve his skating to improve his play in his own zone.'

So yeah, what you said

Rundblad will join #Blackhawks while Brisebois will report directly to the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League.

Why not?

The beat reporters are saying Rundblad stays in Chicago. Stan loves his draft picks so I can't see him making this deal let Rundblad play in Rockford.

So, Stan trades for two d-men, one with NHL experience (Kostka's replacement) and one punk. Depth and future move, or is a d-man on the way out tomorrow in a bigger trade?
- mohel

This sounds like a trade to bolster...

...Rockford for their playoff run.

David Rundblad will join the #Blackhawks roster. So we're right back to 8 D, which Bowman implied the other day he didn't really want.

That solves that. Good call DK.

Stan Bowman on Saturday: "Having eight defensemen all year made a challenge for the coaches to try to get enough ice time for the guys."

With Rundblad going to Chicago, and Stan clearly indicating they don't want eight d-men, then that all but guarantees that someone is on their way out. This has to be obvious, no?

Adding another young Swede (he's 23) to the mix is interesting...curious to see how Rundblad does.

This has been an interesting penultimate day before the deadline.

You know what I am thinking, how do we move that 2nd round pick higher in the round? I do not trust anything related to the Phoenix franchise.

Or perhaps Stan was simply not tipping his hand.

Eli, safe to say there's not much defensive depth in Rockford? Other than Clendening and Klas, it's slim pickings?

I see to remember another former 1st round pick that had bounced between a few organizations. Ivan Vishnevskiy. How did that work out?

I know Rundblad isn't Vishnevskiy, but the way he's kind of bounced around, it leaves me skeptical of him making it. I guess he's going to get an opportunity to show if he belongs right away.

I'm not saying that you're wrong, or that I'm right. I'm just skeptical of Rundblad in general.

Peckham and Nightingale are slow. Skinner, Connelly and Shea can't play in their own zone. Svedberg is out, and they're still using crusty old Wade Brookbank on the back end to help fill in.

Yeah, we can use help on the blueline in Rockford.
