That doesn't mean you shouldn't like this trade. I am familiar with Rundblad since he was drafted by the Blues. I don't think he's an All Star but he'll had to the depth if we have to lose Oduya in a couple years (due to cap constraints).

I see to remember another former 1st round pick that had bounced between a few organizations. Ivan Vishnevskiy. How did that work out?

I know Rundblad isn't Vishnevskiy, but the way he's kind of bounced around, it leaves me skeptical of him making it. I guess he's going to get an opportunity to show if he belongs right away.

He was part of the Turris trade.

And now he is here.

Interesting journey for him, that's true. I've not watched him play enough to really have an opinion yet. I'm more intrigued by Brisebois.

It's always a bit of a red flag when a young player gets traded several times, in any sport. I'm not sure I can pick someone out who went on to have a decent career who was moved that often that young. We'll see. Maybe Brisebois is the actual key and Rundblad is simply another depth move. Seems odd though. Is Rundblad physical? Does he offer something our other bottom of the roster d-men don't offer, other than youth?

The Chicago Blackhawks announced today that they have acquired defensemen David Rundblad (RUHND-blahd) and Mathieu Brisebois (BREEZE-bwah) from the Phoenix Coyotes in exchange for a second-round selection in the 2014 National Hockey League Entry Draft.
