With the cap room Bowman has to work with, what do you expect? - EKolb13
I expect him to dump Bickell on someone and get a better player in return...duh. |

He would most like end up on the bottom pairing with Tanev, that was more my point......not that we need him due to the emergence of Stanton - Whiskey-Tango

He's just like Kesler - their best days are behind them, but both think they're still relevant... |

I apologize. Long day and my roll up the rim losing streak reached an unprecedented 11 in a row.
PS: Kesler for Teravainen, Leddy and a 1st. |

Though I would not want it to happen but would be wowed by watching Kane with a good center, I do nt understand how Vancouver considers themselves in competition this year.
At this point they will be lucky to make the play offs. They might as well get a bunch of younger talent for an aging, injury prone player. Every year they wait Kesler's value plummets.
Kesler is still great when healthy and good when plays with severe injuries. But his style and age are catching up to him.
Still I would love to have him as a second line winger on my team. |

You'll have to keep half Kesler's salary or the Hawks are over the cap. |

Have to wonder what the jump in sales for Tim's during the roll up the rim promotion. Lending credence to the there is a sucker born every minute saying.
PS. Two words. No, not those two. As appropriate as they may be. Salary Cap. |

Good points, Guruu. Our friends from Van City could answer better, but my own sense is that some markets and fan bases accept the idea of a "rebuild" better than others. Not sure they can do this in Van. |

The only one who thinks they are contenders in Gillis. Can't blame the fan base for that one. |

Are you calling me a sucker?! I'll show you! I'm gonna go buy coffee's until I win. Who's the sucker now!?
Canucks will retain some of Kesler's salary but the Blackhawks need to foot the bill for his mistresses mani's and pedi's. |

Do you think the "average Joe" fan in Van thinks they're out of it AND will accept a rebuild? I don't mean people that post on boards. |

Good point. Especially considering there is a faction of Hawk fans who thought Pirri was the ANSWER. |

I know and believe JJ is posting what he's heard. I know he never said there will be a trade. I'm wondering about the public stance of standing pat and the non-public discussions of being in on so many players. Is Stan's public stance lip service and negotiating tactics? Is he not likely to trade unless a steal comes along, or does he see faults in the team that he's willing to pay to fix? The rumors can be due diligence by Stan, or they could really feel they need to add. - mohel
Don't know what more to say...I wrote about this stuff yesterday and Bowman was pretty clear about how many calls he is getting and his attitude about the TDL.
Rumors start for many reasons and almost always they never lead to a pre published trade. ....Actually can't remember both sides being rumored correctly with all the pieces in the last 8 yrs.
Much of the stuff that is rumored now are bigger deals...Remodeling type of trades and they don't happen for very good teams this time of year.
Blues were different as they traded a goalie and same type of player and the money worked.
But their GM never came out and said they were not looking at deadline trades and that he really liked his team.
Halak for Miller has been talked about for months...and this time that part came true.
What's up Hawk fans? Pirri dealt, Bollig re-upped 3 ys- No more dmen playing forward: Comments on Bowman presser-3/2: http://bit.ly/1g2xhzw

I am not an expert, except in my own mind, but that can not be a good thing. But then he did sell the Hawks on the dazzling skills of one Peter (frank)ing Regin. |
