That proposed Pens trade makes the Nucks weaker now and in the future as far as top six goes…NO DEAL - LeftCoaster
I agree, it is tough but i want a valuable future top 6 and that package |

Getting Shero to give up Pouliot is big. Now do whatever you can to get Bennett in the package. Then ship Edler wherever to get the young C. - Michael_Stuart
Ideally, you'd trade Edler+ for B.Schenn(straight up would be nice). Kesler for Pouliot, Bennett, 1st. Sutter doesn't excite me at all. Bennett could turn out to be a good second line winger.
Kesler, Edler for B.Schenn, Pouliot, Bennett, 1st isn't bad at all. |

Rossi, PIT beat writer on 1040 now. Says Pouliot, Sutter, 1st is likely Pens offer and Shero told Vancouver he wants a chance to beat any other offers that the Canucks get. - Nucker101
I swear they have magical cap somehow. Oh wait their d sucks carry on (playoffs) |

Bennett, Pouliot, 1st doesn't work cap-wise for Pitt. |

Even with Dupuis and Letang on LTIR? I think you need to revist your calculations. |

Pouliot would be great here. Good pickup. I have no interest in Sutter. |

Pens have some injuries so they have a bit of space but still need more salary going to Vancouver. Vancouver could always eat a little if it works to get the right package.
Always curious about negotiations and how set teams are on players or best player available. |

I'd be really excited about Pouliot. And if you could get Bennett thrown in, wouldn't be opposed to taking on Sutter if that's necessary to make Pittsburgh go for it. Pouliot, Bennett, 1st (albeit a low one) is a pretty good start to the rebuild, especially if you can then go out and turn Edler into that young center like B. Schenn. Add in the Horvat, Shinkaruk picks + a potentially top-10 pick of Vancouver's own this year and the future doesn't look all that bad. |

Sutter is going to be in the package... I can't see Pitt holding onto him as well unless its a 3 team deal and Sutter goes somewhere else. It makes a lot of sense to send another player like Hansen with Kes to give us a bigger package. Add in Sutter and Hansen to the deal?

Canucks could always hold 50% of Kes's cap hit for the rest of just this year. |

B.Schenn, Horvat, Lack, Tanev, Pouliot, Corrado, Bennett, Shinkaruk, Kassian, Gaunce, Jensen and two 1sts in this year's draft would be a solid start. |

How hard can it be to make a trade before the tdl compared to at draft or in the summer?
I would guess you could get a better deal at tdl with teams wanting to add for the playoffs and willing to pay for it. With many teams having experienced injuries the ones that spend close to the cap should have a little more room.
In Gillis we trust. |

Wheel and deal, flip Pouliot and/or Sutter and/or current roster players to bring in that top 6 prospect. |

You're right, he didn't mean 5 realistic targets, there were actually only 5 players in the entire NHL he would have traded CoHo for. Shero was pissed he didn't know CoHo was on the block because he was getting ready to offer up Crosby AND Malkin. - KB3Point0
I am not a fool like you. It doesnt have to be pointed out that Gillis was looking at realistic targets. Young power forwards. Moron

No they can't. You can't hold salary for only one year of multi temaining years. All or none. |
