To be fair, Kesler plays RW with the Twins on the first unit and racked up 15 goals and 15 assists on the PP that season. But yeah, he was a (frank)ing beast that season. He'd be scary with legit top 6 linemates for a full season at ES and the PP. As DCT said the other day, he'd be a legit threat for 40 goals on Crosby's wing(not that the Pens would play him there full time, but if you guys could land him while keeping Sutter then look out!).

He took partial blame for the situation, having a contract that was impossible to move. According to some insiders Gillis had the opportunity to move him BEFORE the new CBA and got greedy. His stock has plummeted since, and Gillis is to blame.

But honestly, who knows who is actually pulling the strings over there. This behind the scene crap is annoying. All I know, is this organization has treated a top notch goaltender and a decent guy like absolute poop and its embarrassing.

I hope for everyone's sake they buy him out... its just getting old.

He looked great in the Olympics teeing up the one timer on the PP too. Have no idea why the Canucks don't have him there now. No wonder their PP is so awful.

Kesler out on the PP right now reminds me of when the Caps didn't know what to do with Ovechkin on the PP and he just looked lost, skating around aimlessly instead do setting up for the cross ice one timer.

For years you've made some insightful observations and posts and then you come up with some real head scratching comments.

Lack is a good goalie, but he's not outplaying Luo. He played well in the 2 previous games and in Torts started him on that criteria alone.

If you had your way Kyle Wellwood would still be on the team, and wearing the "C". Or how about this thought...maybe just maybe Torts is saving Luo for the weaker teams so he can inflate his stats and make Lack look bad, like you stated with Schneider a couple of years ago.

In other words stick to being objective and put your anger and negativity aside.

Either way works for me, as long as we get a ton for him. Getting the right return for Kesler and hopefully Edler would allow MG to TOTALLY redeem himself.

I was just a reader for a year before I joined, but I've found myself agreeing with a lot of what he says, sometimes it's the harsh truth. Luongo's a solid goalie and a proven workhorse which Lack is not, but the smart organizations know when to cut ties with the older/expensive players to maximize cap value. At this point it makes sense to buy him out IMO. Free up that cap space and rid yourself of the headache of a future cap penalty when he retires early. It's not like he's 29 years old, he's only gonna lose more flexibility and durability IMO.
