You are wrong. Gillis identified a group of players that met a specific need the Canucks had, namely toughness, for the playoffs. He knew they would be pushed around with Hodgson as their 3rd line center. The kid is not a good skater and doesn't add the element of toughness we needed on our 3rd line at the time.

So Gillis rushed a trade by not advertising that Hodgson wanted out??? He limited his choices because some teams who didn't have the assets he wanted weren't notified that he was available? Who (frank)ing cares? That isn't limiting his options, it's identifying what he wants and going after it.
