Trade rumors lit up when OTT staff seen meeting with Conacher/Corvo short while ago. No trade but won't be surprised if they're on waivers.

Both of those guys on waivers?

I think coots winds up being a handzus. I find his lack of speed alarming for elite talent potential
- Flyersgod

Did you see that goal he scored against the Rangers where he split the D and blew right past them? His skating is not an issue.

Maybe this is the kool-aid or the blonging talking, but I consider Ghost our best shot at a top-4 two-way dman... I'm 100% on his bandwagon.

I'm not rooting against the guy.

So why does eveyone think that its either Schenn or Couturier going? It could be Simmonds or Voracek considering Kesler can play RW as well.
- SchennBros

With the possibility of Edler AND Kesler going to youse guys w out Couturier in the deal it's one that we lose, IMHO.

IMHO, if the Flyers move B. Schenn or Couturier for any player on Vancouver, It will be a mistake. This team is not set to win right now. Edler doesn't make our defense a Stanley Cup caliber defense.

You may lose, but the Flyers won't win. It makes Vancouver better in the future and doesn't greatly improve the Flyers right now.

The flyers are going to blow this. They will be older, more expensive, and more brittle after the deadline and whoever doesn't think so obviously doesn't know the flyers

Whats the point in getting Kesler? I can understand Edler (Although I'm not a huge fan), but Kesler is Sean Couturier in 8 years.

Read all these pages, and still don't think the Flyers are doing anything.

I think they're (frank)ing with the Penguins, making them give up more than Brandon Sutter. I also think they'd like to move Meszaros but won't unless they get the 2nd, but I could even see that becoming a 3rd if they just want to get an asset for an expiring contract.

In getting Kesler...there's nowhere to even play the guy, for what it will cost. There's no reason on God's Green Earth to move him for Baby Schenn-plus -- do we really want to give up Baby Schenn's peak years for a player who is in decline? And make no mistake: Kesler is in decline. Maybe he can still score, but the 40-goal Kesler is LOOOOOONNNNGGGG GONE.

I'd believe plenty of other trade rumors before I believe any with Kesler, TBH.

That was over 2 months ago and Downie has done nothing positive since. I would buy the "injury" arguement if he was just playing bad defensively and or offensively. But he is playing stupid hockey that costs this team by taking stupid not lazy penalties. Alot of you want to keep him based on 9 games this year. Sorry but you can't sell that to another team and those 9 games don't deserve a new contract for next year either.
- Daveflyers36

The stupid part is often the byproduct of a struggling player that is frustrated. And the injuries and possible concussion effects could be a large part of why he is struggling. He's clearly not right, and has not been the same player as when he first came to the Flyers.

Honestly... He may have better offense, but Couts is a better defensive forward in my opinion.

if there is a trade i doubt its just for kessler....edler must be involved as well. Flyers see the east as wide open. they are probably going for it. whether thats good or bad no one knows.

you could very well be right but i still don't get the constant venomous hate. hartnell takes more stupid penalties than downie does... a lot of them could cut down on the dumb.
