No. You must jump to a conclusion now.
- PhillySportsGuy

It would certainly fit in wouldn't it? Maybe I should just post pre-emptive criticism. Because we all know that Holmgren has no clue what he's doing!

So what you're saying is we actively influence the development of a player, but we can't reasonably forecast their potential. Got it.

Honestly... He may have better offense, but Couts is a better defensive forward in my opinion.
- jak521

Kesler won a Selke. I think he's better than Couts in almost every area. I just don't see him being better than Couts for too many more years.

We are all saying IF it happens we will be furious.

I think everyone is just a little nervous the Flyers will resort to "WE NEED TO WIN NOW" mode.

Whats the point in getting Kesler? I can understand Edler (Although I'm not a huge fan), but Kesler is Sean Couturier in 8 years.

He's got great wheels. Not so much finish. There's potential.

IMHO, if the Flyers move B. Schenn or Couturier for any player on Vancouver, It will be a mistake. This team is not set to win right now. Edler doesn't make our defense a Stanley Cup caliber defense.
- PhillySportsGuy

If Kesler stays healthy (the big if) he can win a series all by himself. I think he's a good fit in Philly. He'll do anything to win. But he's an a**hole of the highest order. He's definitely a problem in the locker room here.

Did you see that goal he scored against the Rangers where he split the D and blew right past them? His skating is not an issue.

Blew past them?

wait, he did? I thought he was a good egg, even if he horribly misconstrued my sarcasm the first time we interacted.

Fortunately, Skip was available to mediate.

I think we know who won that trade between Ottawa and Tampa.

He'd be a nice guy to stash in the minors. I don't think thats going to happen though.

I would be upset also. But the post I replied to pretty much said the Flyers are going to blow it, and get older, more brittle etc. I'm going to wait and see what happens.

you could very well be right but i still don't get the constant venomous hate. hartnell takes more stupid penalties than downie does... a lot of them could cut down on the dumb.
- -davies-

We're not happy unless we have a whipping boy. It's been that way in Philadelphia for as long as I can remember, from Mike Schmidt on

I love him as a player. The problem we all have is his position and the current situation of the team. They are not contenders with their current defense and they have several good, young centers. Why would they trade a center about to enter his prime for a center about to leave his prime when the team isn't good enough to win a cup?

Just because he won a Selke doesnt mean he is better now. The big advantage he has is that he is better at the dot. I agree that he is the more accomplished player, and better two way player.. but defensively idk.
