4th rounders are the currency for rental players and back up goalies so far today
- Marc D

Then Mezzy could get us 19 first rounders?

If Minny goalie situation is done with Bryz....where does Halak go? Washington?
- nonpoint22

If he does, then you know Homer HAS to make a move. Cant have Washington getting Penner and Halak, and us do nothing.

Admiral Akbar is one of the best. Did you know he was Grand Moff Tarkin's slave? That is where he learned all his strategy. Al La Akbar!

He's a useless character and, as the person below you said, he doesn't really do anything that any person with an ounce of common sense would do.

Clutch Playoff Scorer - 4th round pick
Legitimate Starting goalie - 4th round pick
30+-year-old, oft-injured center - young 20-goal scorer, top prospect, first round pick

- jmatchett383

Seems about right.

These trades actually make sense, for the prices being paid -- and they show how out of line some of the asking prices are for some of these other players
- AllInForFlyers

Ducks send the fourth they got from Washington to Dallas to acquire Robidas. So, in effect, it's swapping Penner for Robidas.

I could have given that order to concentrate all fire power on that super star destroyer and I'm not an admiral nor do I look like someone's future fried appetizer.

That is easier said then done when facing down a fully functional death star.

Sure hope the Flyers don't give up the pieces I have heard for Kesler - if it's for a Doughty , Weber or Keith then yes !!

They should have just had Indiana Jones capture everyone's attention with his good looks to distract them while they systematically took the death star apart piece by piece.

The Flyers would have to make other moves to create the cap space needed to make that trade.
- MJL

with Meszaros, Rosehill and even Gill gone that would create almost 5.5-6 mil....Downie ? Matt Read ? Im sure most of these guys could be moved out and the cap minipulated to work....but who knows what else would happen...Frankly they are stupid if they give up too much for that package....I guess we will see how much Holmgren is commited to the youth ?
As I have stated if it meant bringing in a younger cornerstone type D man then I could stomach Schenn or Couturier....

I think if Homer was gonna make a move, he would have done so already.

I don't think he's done all that many "day of the deadline" deals, has he?

No, those numbers would have to be prorated. That would probably save us about $1.5M.
