I will admit I don't know anything about his play right about now. So feel free to correct me.
What I do know is Mez is playing pretty well right now, had a good olympics and could help a team (including us) in the play-offs.

I think the leg hurt his value a bit, but we're talking about a legit top-4 shutdown kind of guy, perfect for the PO's, team-leader, low cap hit, right-handed and can play in all situations.

Mez doesn't quite stack up to that.

I'll stick to Middle Earth and the Hyborian Kingdoms, that you very much.

Exactly. Sorry to incite a geek fight... but Tolkien doesn't need an EU because he made the whole damn universe up himself. I'm about as big of a Star Wars nerd as you're going to find, and I find the EU stuff embarrassing. Except Tales from Jabba's Palace. That was fun.

I love Middle Earth too. Only problem is, everything that will ever be written about Middle Earth is already written. EU is constantly expanding, giving you more and more to read... At least it was until Mickey bought Vader.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and suggest Kane is untouchable. They want Kesler and Kane together, not to trade Kane for him.

Some bloggers have absolutely built up their website based on that notion of being a professional troll, for sure.

Blackhawks wouldn't do that. They have no need for Edler and Kane is much younger than Kesler.

They'd want Kesler to play WITH Kane.

That is incorrect. Christopher Tolkein has been publishing works since his father died.

I'd rather keep Mez at this point then trade him for nothing.

The upside to trading Mez for a pick means that ice time opens up for Gus.

The upside to keeping Mez is that you have pretty good blue line depth down the stretch.

And while I have been on the "Trade Mez" bandwagon all season, I don't think the team HAS TO trade him at this point. Most of his contract is paid down for this year, so it's not like you're saving a ton of money getting rid of him.

The only upside (right now) is more ice time for Gus.

The key guy is Vanek -- Snow has to get at least two pieces back, but you wonder who's going to blink and give them up

But Vanek's cost...I keep reading Anaheim could do it, and they have the assets, but pulling the trigger on something like that is no laughing matter, because while Snow's not gonna win the deal, he can't get crushed, either

There is no comparison between Star Wars and Star Trek. The star wars video games has grossed more then the entire Star Trek Franchise. Its pitiful.

They do have Shea Theodore in the system who is similar to Vatanen, but he's still at least a year or two away from getting to the NHL.

Not sure the Ducks should take from their current roster to upgrade their current roster.
