Man, I like Kane, huge upside, he's never played with anyone as skilled as Giroux either. He's likely worth B Schenn and this years first. Put him with Giroux and I think he's a 40 goal scorer.

In Schenn's last 3 seasons with Toronto, he missed 6 total games. Gardiner has never been scratched though. He's a regular in their star studded lineup.

my god neither do I......as a rookie two years ago he had 30 pts ....last year in the playoffs he had 5 pts in 6 games and was the leafs top D man...this year he has been in Carlisles dog house ...and has fallen out of favor....
he has been a top 6 d man this year.
but alas some still cling to the Hope that is Luke Schenn...I don't.

That's the kind of trade, if you're Winnipeg...you make it, sure. But you only get to trade guys like that once, so you better get exactly what you need.

Not revisiting JVR for Schenn, because trading a forward for a defenseman isn't automatically bad. But the Flyers needed a different kind of defenseman and they didn't get exactly what they needed -- and they don't get to trade JVR again
