Hope they extend him. I think he's a solid addition. He could probably be labeled as our 3 or 4th "best" dman.

But, if he doesn't sign, a second and a third for a rental of his "magnitude" isn't a good deal.

Because the Flyers won't pay him that? Come on, you know they will. Flyers rarely give up picks for rentals.

It's a 3 round pick this season and a 2 next season.
I have no issues with a deal like this other than it means someone else is moving.
I wish that someone else was not Mez and was Grossmann.
Having one Titanic speed dman ( lschenn) is enough for me.

I have to agree with you here. Both play the same role. I would stick with Schenn, and trade Gross, if for nothing else than the age difference. We'd be selling low on Schenn.

Last 2 years have been pretty bad. Before that he was decent so there's ability/talent there. Maybe just playing in over his head as their #1 guy.
