That was how I remembered it too.

We gave up a guy who is a dynamic top line winger (currently 25th in the league in points) and got a middle pairing d-dman. Thats a bad move right now.

I dont have as much faith as others do in Schenn. I dont think he is gonna turn into some monster minute eating forward clearing, top pairing d-man.

I would not label JVR as dynamic. He's a good player. We knew he was a good player when he was traded. I value defenseman more then Wingers like JVR. If Luke Schenn improves to what I think he can be, it's a good trade. If he stays where he is now, it's not.

But dealing away more top-90 picks is not good. Neither is the inevitable $$$ extension that is about to come.
