If he can be Schenn from the end of last year, our defense actually looks pretty strong. As is now, Schenn doesn't actually make a bad breakout pass. I personally think Gross is the odd one out now. - JAKEw1234
Me too. Said that earlier in the thread.
I could see them getting back that 3rd for Grossmann. |

You're calling it a fleecing without knowing how good he'll be. What if the Coyotes draft the next Shea Weber with that pick and Rundblad becomes Tim Erixon? - PhillySportsGuy
What if rundblad is a beast? That's a gamble I would take for a second round pick |

I agree. Ive always been a fan of his and stuck up for him, but his play has dropped off this season. Trading him makes sense. |

The Lightning just outwork everyone. They aren't flash, but they just get poop done. |

So if Mez and Kimmo are gonzo he's the Flyers best offensive Dman and top 2 on defense end then this is an excellent deal. Just hope they can resign him at a resonable 3/4 year deal.
I think offensively, he's probably about 3rd- I'd put Mez and Kimmo ahead of him.
Defensively...I dunno. I might say third again, or at least tied. Kimmo, Coburn, then probably MacDonald. I haven't watch him THAT much, but I think he's got a defensive advantage over Grossmann and Schenn.
Although Schenn has shown us he's capable of playing at a pretty high level. Hopefully he can channel that again. - Giroux_Is_God

Really, it was not the answer I should have given. I apologize for that. The reason why I wouldn't is because, not that I don't think Yandle is a good player. He's a top offensive defenseman, that is reliable defensively. But trading the 2 Schenn's is the really last golden bullets they have left. Any defenseman acquired for that price, has to be a top pairing 2 way player. I don't feel Yandle is that player. No doubt he would help the transition game, and add top offense to the backend. But he's not the player you would put out there in key defensive situations in key moments of games. And to anyone who would say that player may not be available, I'd agree. |

It does in my view. As we all know, I'm a Grossmann supporter. But it's about the mix.

That's actually quite scary. One more reason to resign Mez to a reasonable deal. |

Damn right.
Interestingly enough I just wrote my first song ever...it's for the piano and it's in Eb.
In writing my own melody I realized how I play exactly like Elton who basically is my piano idol.

Yeah look at the blue line next year without Kimmo, Mez and MacDonald. Yikes.

I just....I just don't think Mez is 100% gone. If he keeps this level of play up, or at the very least plays just a notch below it consistently, I don't see why the Flyers wouldn't re-sign him.
It confuses me that he's just written off for the future by most of the fanbase |

I would go with Streit as the Flyers best offensive D man. Even now.
