I agree about the hate, but I'd disagree about being a hell of a lot better.

How about, he's playing better than Schenn.

Brain fart on my behalf. For some reason I'm mixing up Runblad, and Granlund. Friggin Scandinavians.

Excellent vision, passing abilities. Good size. He's defensive game is a work in progress! Kinda reminds me of buff
- PhillaBully

No defenseman projected as a 2nd round pick has that skillset?

Good with that. But when looking at young defenseman, it's also about upside.

Sarcasm. He hates Schenns, Grossmann, puppies, smiles, children's laughter...

If I am looking at this deal for amac, it breaks down this way

The minor league player was to clear a contract space ?

The 3rd was for taking the minor league player contract/ $

The 2nd rounder was for the player.

It still seems like a lot for the guy, but we all know how players sometimes flourish in other cities after a change in locale and coaching. But for a rental its a lot.
Not the long terms solution but a part of a puzzle with bigger pieces tomorrow or post season

I love Grossman. Not sure whats with all the hate. Hell of a lot better than Schenn.
- Flyersgod

well, I'd say he's a helluva lot more consistent than Schenn ... but not better.

Schenn has more noticeable gaffs, for sure ... but overall I'd say he's a 4/5 D man, whereas Grossmann is clearly a 6/7 guy.

Yeah, Schenn's upside is Grossmanesque.

I love how a 23 year old Rundblad or Gardiner has worlds of potential, but a 24 year old Schenn has maxed out as 3rd pairing. But these other fringe NHLers are EXACTLY WHAT WE NEED!

I never said that. That's you not able to understand your own logic.

You actually said earlier that Gardiner has less potential than Schenn. Which is very amusing.

After an awful start this season Streit has really done well on the Offensive end so I would actually agree.

I would go with Streit as the Flyers best offensive D man. Even now.

Grossman is far more then a 6/7 defenseman. He's a top 4 defensive defenseman.

You see potential as goals. This guy will score more goals so he had more potential.

Would you rather have Dan Girardi or Keith Yandle? Ryan McDonagh or Byfuglien?

Id say thats questionable. I think he's a third pairing defensive defenseman.

What makes it questionable. He's played a top 4 role on two different NHL teams.

MCdonaugh is the best out of all 4. As for the rest, what are you looking for? An offensive specialist, or a more all around player? Girardi is better all around over Yandle and Byfuglien.

I think Girardi and Yandle are fairly even and would depend on the mix the team already has.

If I was starting a defense and I had Yandle or Girardi to choose from, I would take Girardi.

Maybe in a couple of years. Guy has been playing in the ahl and doing fairly well offensive wise. He would have cracked the flyers roster no problem.just watch the tape. In my opinion Phoenix got fleeced
