That is a shame... lol I think it will come to him eventually, problem is I dont think it will be with the Orange and Black. - justahockeyguy2
I think it will be. They've married themselves to him. They can't trade him now for cents on the dollar. Just ride it out and hope he finds the consistency. |

Yea. I think it will take $5M. The market for defenseman is going to be crazy. It might be better off for the Flyers to make the deal now rather than wait for FA. - PhillySportsGuy
agreed ... plus the fact that the Flyers should be able to recoup a 2nd or 3rd for Mez or Grossmann makes this deal a very good one, imo. |

The Isles only shopped him because he didn't want to re-sign. - Jsaquella
Its shocking that another player didn't want to re-sign with the Islanders.
By the way, other than Tavares, is MacDonald the Isles best draft pick of the last 8 years? He was a 6th round pick on a team with a punch of top 10 picks. Pathetic franchise. |

And if that is the case, I dont think Baby Schenn is going anywhere. They wont split up the Schenn Bros, in my opinion anyway |

I would really like to see them recoup some picks as well. I just don't know what the market will be for Mez and Grossmann. Once again Homer has boxed himself into a situation where teams KNOW he wants to unload a defenseman. At least this time he doesn't HAVE TO unload a player. |

They shouldn't. I like Brayden as a #2C center. He's looking good this year. I even like his defensive play of late. Winning board battles in his own end. |

The entire League knew that the Islanders were going to trade McDonald.

This I agree with. Also to piggyback - I think the biggest thing this D needs is a shakeup, or more of a complete overhaul, and this is the first step. I feel like our dmen are square pegs and our defensive system consist of round holes. |

I think they need one player at this point. But it has to be the right player, for the right cost.

Also remember his savage compete level against the Penguins 2 seasons ago during the stretch run and the 1st round? He had some unreal shifts. |

In terms of value, maybe. Okposo has turned into a good one. Travis Hamonic is a good player, too...but that's a 1st & 2nd round |

People should be happy with the Price to get MacDonald. You know what Gillis wants for Edler? A Young NHL Proven Dman, top forward prospect and 1st round pick! Gillis is high if he thinks someone is biting on that. Guy is a career minus player on a winning team known for low scoring games (Not winning this year but Van has been president trophy winner how many times?) I'll be surprised if Gillis is not fired. Guy is horrible not only at overvaluing his players but his overall plan is destroying that team |

If you expect the Flyers to make any breath taking trades tomorrow, you better bet its going to be some D/picks/prospects. I dont think Homer is going to give up his young core of Schenn and Couturier. There is an overload in the organization at C.. |

Gillis is looking to hit home runs here. He's not fully committed to trading those players, unless he get's an extreme overpayment. Edler is not a career minus player. |

Well, Edler is a significantly better player.
And what the Hell is up with that beard on Gillis?

You guys should read the Isles board. I checked it out. They are blasting A Mac. They seem to think he is a 5/6 defenseman on a good team. I dont know a ton about him but that doesnt seem right... |

They also blasted Streit once they realized he wasnt going to re-sign. |
