After the Luongo trade he is totally committed now. He has to trade Kesler now and he has to trade a D man by the start of next season. Otherwise the teams situation is even worse then it was 2 hrs ago.

I think there will be a goalie signing in the summer. For maybe 2 years. Markstrom will be in the minors till he is ready in 2years. Cap space from this and Booth buyout will mean a legitimate top 6 signing. Retool on the fly to get younger and faster. If Kesler stays then we get a winger for him. If he leaves we get a new 2nd line. I like this trade. This makes sure that we don't rush Bo in next year. Let him play 1 year at Utica.I still think 1 or 2 d will move before deadline.

Also beware of saying anything that might go against the Canucks or Gillis in this thread, especially if you're not a Vancouver fan. I was just banned for absolutely no reason because of this, but luckily it was rightfully uplifted in no time.

It is kind of funny, but I think FA has had much influence in these decisions.

Stating the obvious, Gillis does not have a good track record with trades and Florida- Ballard, Booth and this.

Is there any speculation that Schneider was moved because of Kesler and his wandering Richard? I know Kesler's name allegedly came out of the locker room when Cody was traded as well.... kesler was stripped of his A in Oct....

I don't think you deal a young potential star goalie just because of that....But that's just me. Schneider should have been back with Vancouver and they should have kept trying to shop Luongo until a deal like this opened up. Just my opinion.
