No because he wouldn't be getting top 6 minutes or any reasonable PP time in Van. In Toronto he's 6th by TOI for forwards & 9th for PP time for all players. So a soft top 6 & 2nd line PP player.

He would log 3rd line minutes & a bit of PP time so all those other deserving players can play ahead of him. Last year he was 8th in Van for TOI by forwards & 9th for average PP time for all players. The year prior 2011-12, 7th for TOI at forward, 15th for PP time.

Discount because he's still injured, but I totally agree. Looks like they'll be acquiring a top 6 forward as well. If they don't pay up for Vanek, I assume they'll settle for Moulson or Cammy.

I think it is a good deal . If Markstrom turns out decent no one will complain. Maybe Rollie can mold him into a decent Goalie.

It's gonna be Van. Gillis will sell Matthias as the 3LC the teams been missing, and use that as a excuse when they miss the show.

I don't think any Canucks fans are upset with Lu leaving, writing was on wall, repainted and on the wall again (graffiti busters on speed dial).

It is a bit of frustration with the outside comments who were going to rag on any deal because they said the contract was untradeable....

Got a young goalie back and a roster player... just have to eat a bit of salary. I don't know if I love it, could have been a lot worse.

He's definitely legit. I just prefer the centrepiece coming back to be a player like B.Schenn, still has upside, is young but proven to be effective in the NHL. I'd prefer dealing with Anaheim over Pittsburgh.
