Gillis did ok in moving him today but his handling of Luongo starting with his contract has been horrendous.

Gillis signed that contract to stop Lu from walking as a free agent. Lu and his agent wanted that contract. They handcuffed this franchise. After the new CBA it became apparent that the contract was an albatross. The result? Lu fired his agent.

If anyone is to blame for that contract it's Lu's old agent. Players have to start thinking about contract flexibility instead of going for the biggest payday they can get.

I think by trading Schneider Gillis created more options for himself, while getting Horvat. End of the day, we've got two goalies that have potential to be really really good. I'm happy with what was done today.
