My prediction is that Gillis doesn't get the offers he wants and holds. (frank) Pitt, ANA/PHI/CBJ had the assets we need more. - Nucker101
This could go either way but it seems Edler is staying. If MG doesn't get the assets for Kes he should hold on until the draft IMO. I still think we can get a better return at that time. Kesler can wait a few months. |

Paul Holmgren has told other NHL GMs tonight that he has no deal for Ryan Kesler and isn't likely to be making one. - Michael_Stuart
Why would Holmgren say that now? That's just poor poker showing his hand this early, especially when you're trying to mess with a hated rival.
I don't believe, not to mention Steve Simmons is a yutz, who would tell that guy anything? |

Simmonds say PHI is out the Spector says Kesler's list is DET/PHI/PIT....if both are true then Gillis is really (frank)ed. |

The only benefit to Holmgren would be to his reputation amongst GMs for future dealings. Either that or Gillis pissed him off and he wanted to do his best to keep the return as low as possible.
But it's probably bull considering the source. |

Don't think guys like Maatta and Lindholm(ANA's young stud dman) are available.
I like my offer and think it makes sense for both sides. - Nucker101
I think push come to shove... Shero would do it. IMO
Dont disagree your offer seems more plausible |

Bob Murray is pretty good with asset management, I think he'd prefer a player that is already signed. Vanek is gonna want big money. I'd prefer Kesler if I was a Duck fan. - Nucker101
True. I do like your proposal as well. People have said that Vatanen may be available and I'd be curious to see if they could possibly squeeze more out of Anaheim using the inter-division card. I think the best thing that could happen for a Kesler to Ducks trade would be if LA could land one of Vanek or Moulson ASAP |

Spector also completely contradicts Simmonds and says they'd move Couturier for Kesler....I give up. |

For sure, or even if Chicago added someone. Blues have already made teir move, putting pressure on ANA to make a big move to match them while also taking one of those forwards off of the market would be great.
This is the most interesting Canuck TDL in years, pretty fun peculating even if nothing happens tomorrow. |

I'd boost your offer to Etem + Silfverberg + Bonnino.
Yeah it's a lot but it's within division and still makes ANA a better team right away which is what I imagine they are after going all in for a SC run this year. |

You think a mid-1st in a weak draft is better than a young player (Bonino) that's beginning to show his worth in the NHL in a position we are desperately short in? |

Personally I'd still like to see a 1st come back in a Kesler deal. Again if LA makes a big move it might encourage a team like Anaheim to up the ante to keep pace with the Kings, Blues, etc. |

Yeah, I'm not sold on Bonino much. OTT lost again tonight, that pick looks like it will be top 15 with top 10 potential. I would take that over Bonino who I believe will regress. I also like Vatanen over Silfverberg. |

EDM is a short plane ride to the East my friend, the land where all draft picks are future Gretzkys. |

It's more about me not buying into Bonino completely than loving a 1st in the 10-15 rage. Draft picks are lotteries, two decent 1sts gives you a better chance to land a potential future core player. |

I think you're underrating Bonino.
He's put up excellent numbers playing with the likes of Beleskey and Palmieri at ES.
Although, he does get decent PP time.
Rakell is another interesting piece from ANH.
20 y/o right handed C. Close to point/game in the AHL and apparently has a decent two way game.
EDIT: I see you've already responded about Rakell on HF —I'm just catching up now.
We have opposite opinions on ANH's possible involved assets.
I'm higher on Bonino/Rakell than Etem/Vatanen.
Although if a D were included, I'd be ok with Vatanen. |

My opinion of the way MG drafts is quite low. And I don't like landing a D (which we don't really need) in the hopes of making a great hockey trade for C when MG is the one doing the trading.
I realize I'm a bit jaded by the guy but I've got some history to back up my fears. Anyway I much preferred the PHI deals discussed. Everything else I've heard and I'd hang on to Kes until the draft. |

I find the odds of Kesler being dealt slim.. when was the last time Gillis has made a deal with any sort of sign leading up to the trade? Cant think of any... |

Although I agree with you that it's very likely nothing happens, I don't think Gillis's past silences leading up to TDL have anything to do with it. |
