The Flyers being dirty is really overplayed by the media. I instantly relate us back to Bullies era. When we are on our game we can get under the oppositions skin. Its wonderful to watch.

They don't do illegal things though. They just antagonize and stir poop up. Every hit by Rinaldo was clean last night. (His hit on Brouwer was something else).

I don't think you're the only one.

Berube really seems to use him as a poor man's Matt Read.

Tickt needs to be up on the third line. Downie needs to see the bench for a few games.

Its great he scored that empty netter, but it was still a stupid play on his part. He had already iced the puck once and that kept a tired line on the ice. They were in the middle of a long shift and he was risking another icing that would have kept them out there even longer.

It was a dumb decision that turned out ok.

I think its funny that Hall has become an offensive threat now that Raffl is on the 4th line

Im not sure if I would be interested in keeping Hall or not next year. He seems pretty capable and does everything we ask of him, but there may be better options.

I legitimately believe Raffl can be a top 6 player in the NHL. Most definitely top 9.

We would be calling for his head if he missed the net and iced the puck instead.

Raffl is one of my favorite players because he's good, he can play in any situation, he's had to work harder to prove he belongs in the NHL, and working harder seems to be his standard effort level. And he's given that 4th line a bit of a scoring threat. They played quite well last night...for a lot of the game anyway.

Good read if you guys haven't checked it out already:

What do you guys think the addition of A Mac means for Gusty in the offseason? Are we going to dump him somewhere? The organization does not seem enamored with him

I think they should keep him at $1m unless they can get a better FA for the same price.

Interesting that his game got better when paired with a decent partner

I have to comment here
Look at Luke all last season with Kimmo
He was really good.

And Coburn this year with Kimmo.
Very solid year for the most part.
He still has his moments and there will be haters, but I believe Coburn has been very good this year.

I wouldn't mind kimmo back next year mainly for this reason.
He makes both Coburn and L Schenn better.

I agree with the Raffl comments

One thing though.

If you move him off the 4th line (which he deserved and had earned)
The 4th line goes to being useless again.
Berube can now roll lines and it keeps guys like G and Jake fresh for the end.
Playing Rosehill or Newberry or whoever 4 minutes a game, and likely some of those 3rd period comebacks don't happen.

In the off season hopefully they get a 4th liner upgrade so Raffl could move up.

Raffl is becoming a valuable guy.

Last night he played mostly with BSchenn's line.
He has already showed he can fit on the other three lines and improve all of them.
That is not easy and hugely valuable.
