#NYR closed locker room, no one willing to talk about it. A couple players look shocked

- PhillySportsGuy

Maybe we can hope that trading Callahan away sucked out the soul of the blueshirts?

Really dumb move on the Rangers part... probably destroyed the locker room chemistry. Good luck to the Rags. SMH

As it stands, still no room for Raffl on the Flyers, right?

I think rosters expand after the deadline passes.

No, Gagne wanted to stay.
- MBFlyerfan

Right, but once we told him that we had to trade him, he waived his NTC and said that he'd only wanted to go to TB, if I recall correctly.

Slightly different scenarios, but similar in the case that once the NTC was waived, it was only waived for one team, essentially killing any leverage.

I like it. I know it's a pipe dream, but I'd like McDonagh coming back the other way so we can McD and MacD back on the blue line.
- wolfhounds

The same McD that Coots blew past?

It was Kreider

And we're not getting Ryan McDonough

This after Callahan apparently lowered his price to stay. It's gotta be a bit of a shock to lose your captain with 20 games left in the season. Hopefully this knocks the Rangers off their game for a while.

I think it makes them better on paper, but Callahan was a do everything player. They'll miss his all around game. I think it makes them easier to play against.

How is it bad? The kid is NHL ready and has proven it everywhere he plays, ANA has a log jam on D and can't get him in the line up. i watch him here in Norfolk...he would fit right away...Schenn is great and I have been against trading him, but with Vinny on the wing and sticking raffl on the 4th line with his talent they just don't have the right players where they need to be...and Morin, haag, anf Ghost are still a few years away...
- JW98FlyerFan

I need a more established NHL defenseman to trade Schenn.

Rangers also reportedly buying tons of eggshells for everybody to walk around on in order to keep Marty St. Louis happy.

I've always liked and respected MSL... but to demand a trade and to one specific team? Has that even ever gone down before?
- ThirdEye

I've hated him ever since he tried to smash Zhamnov's bare hand with his stick in the 04 playoffs. Lady Byng my ass.

In the 2004 Eastern Conference Finals, Tampa Bay's Martin St. Louis took a deliberate chop (and barely missed) Alexei Zhamnov's bare hand after the Flyers' center lost his glove in a scrum along the boards. St. Louis clear intention was to injure Zhamnov but he got away with it because no harm was done. He still should have gotten a one-game suspension.

Knowing the Flyers it will be Gus and Meszy
- jak521

If Gus is sent to Phantoms he has to pass re-entry waivers to be called back up right? If no one is moved the Flyers are going to have Gus, Gill, and Meszaros as healthy scratches? Doesn't make any sense.

I suppose they can just waive Gill, but still.

Not sure it's a game-changer for them... they're already one of the highest-volume shots-for teams in the league... pretty strong possession squad... they just suck at burying their shots.
- Tomahawk

They just got a perennial 30 goal 50 assist player... it definitely helps them big time.

Sami Vatanen anyone? I hope Homer is looking at this. Play him with Timonen just like in the Olympics ... unfortunately I dont think Homer is looking at this.

Wow. So this could be for Callahan and 2 firsts.

What if the Lightning beat the Rangers in the conference final?
