Kings-Red Wings and Wild are trying to get Ryan Kesler. #tvasports

Don't forget the Penguins who are looking at Kesler. #tvasports - justahockeyguy2
Now those teams make much more sense than the Flyers. They have needs at center and prospects to get him. |

Not to the Flyers... they're only interested in puck-movers if they're a) over 30, or b) in the midst of a career season. - Tomahawk
This is painfully true, probably not going to change until there is a new GM either. |

i think they've been too quiet...feel like they're working on something (hush hush) |

Lol.
Seriously though, Carle & Mez were reclamations with former track-records of really good point production.
I think Coburn's the only one that qualifies as taking a chance on an unknown commodity. I guess you could say Eminger was a stab in that direction, too. |

The numbers don't make them equal. Kesler is a bigger meaner player than Schenn. Kesler also better at the two way game as well. - Flyersgod
Kesler 6-2 202
Schenn 6-1 190
Put coots and Scheen on a weight program to put on 10 pounds and then size doesn't matter...
Schenn has shown he can play a gritty game too |

Not to mention the Flyers are overloaded at C. |

They do take some chances. I'm sure their scouts just didn't like those guys. |

If they end up not dealing Mez or anyone else. I imagine that sometime during the playoffs when d-men start falling like WWI era infantry, we will be glad to have him.
That being said, I hope they make a good deal for him. Otherwise he is a good insurance policy.

Ryan Callahan's original ask of 8 years at $7.5 late last summer should be marked as the starting point for his New York departure.

I dislike schenn so I undervalued him. You like him, so you overvalued him. He's probably somewhere in the middle. |

Coburn/Kimmo
AMac/Streit
Mez or Gus/Schenn
Suddenly your top-six can actually move the puck from top to bottom adequately. |

San Jose has flat stated they won't take limited guys like Grossmann. They're fully embracing analytics and skating. - Jsaquella
Agree
they got rid of nearly the same player last year in Douglas Murray, they won't want big Nik |

I thought our big problem was we didn't have enough puck movers and had a bunch of slow defensive-only players. We basically swap one player out and we're an adequate puck moving team? |
