Apparently pack is only used for polar bears, lol.
- Tomahawk

I thought Polar bears were very independent. I'm sure its rare to see a pack of them.

That Gaborik deal didn't really work out for Columbus very well
- PhillySportsGuy

Well, they're not paying Rick Nash $7mm+ per year to score 25 goals

Glad the Flyers won't be overpaying for Kesler.

Disclaimer: Entitled to go apepoop if Shero gets him on the cheap.

Starting to get the feeling he's gonna be a draft day deal....This just reeks of Robbie Lu take 2

He won't get Kesler cheap -- when he gets moved, somebody's gonna overpay.

They did alright with the Nash deal. The some of those parts was a decent return. The Gaborik deal was awful. The first Carter deal was awful . The second Carter deal was alright considering the circumstances.

EXACTLY -- they're better off with the pieces they got, and Nash is better off where he is

That's basically going to be the case (minus maybe Schenn/Coburn) in 3 years. Doubt Streit stays all 4. Grossmann will have moved on. Probably at least 2 of Ghost/Morin/Hagg/Alt/Lauridsen in the mix, and then whatever elderly UFAs we get to fill out the rest.

Not here to gloat, but would you undo the Talbot for Downie trade if you could? Keeping in mind you could presumably move Talbot for some other asset(s) now?

They don't seem to want to give Gus a real chance.
MAB may never be able to feel good in a room with a 20 watt light bulb on again.
Manning is a huge work in progress.

It's a safe bet none of them will play 40 games in a season for the Flyers.

even though I think Downie has been terrible aside from the first 5 or 6 games as a Flyer again.. no.

Downie could be moved today for around the same thing Talbot could be moved for. I honestly think it was more of a move to clear out an NHL forward spot for next season, without giving up an NHL player this season. There was probably hope that Downie would come in and be a 40-50 point player and maybe re-sign, but totally OKAY if they dont re-sign him

Still wouldn't, for three reasons: Downie helped Couturier turn his season around and Talbot just wasn't playing well with him, the PK has been totally fine without him, and Downie's cap space is going to be valuable.

He could've played better, overall, but he still got hurt badly, and that is a factor.
