Penguins acquire Marcel Goc from Florida.
So that takes them out of the running for Kesler I believe. Might as well try to see about Kulikov. |

We can give them Cousins and next year's 2nd
Can you imagine if someone like Vanek gets dealt for pennies, simply because it's no secret he isn't sticking around? I can't remember any situation like that |

I think Kesler is staying put. Haven't heard his name for a while. |

Horvat looks like a decent prospect too. I don't love him, but I think he can be a top 6 player. - PhillySportsGuy
Yeah, but you wouldn't draft, develop and then trade and Honest-to-Gosh NHL starting goaltender, a guy who is an above-average -- by a fair bit -- starting goaltender, at 27 years of age, who you just signed to a four-year extension, for Bo Horvat.
No one in their right mind would. They even told him that he was the starter and that they were going to trade Luongo!
Worst management EVER. |

On the bright side, one out of Lack/Markstrom/Eriksson will probably pan out as a good starter. - jmatchett383
Sadly, that won't matter in two years when they can only manage 1.5 goals per game. |

I guess he gives them some bottom six depth, or will they play him with Crosby and Kunitz? |

I don't think the returns on both are ridiculously unreasonable. I think the whole situation has been embarrassing for the franchise. It must have been incredibly awkward for everyone.
They are rebuilding and have several good, young goaltenders. I wouldn't worry about their ability to find another good one. |

Not for a 3rd and a 5th though. Isn't that what Hemsky cost too?? Hemsky = Goc?
Edit: I like Goc and don't particularly love Hemsky, but I still think Hemsky is worth a decent amount more than Goc. |

Frank Provenzano @frankprosports 2m
With the return on Gaborik, the walls in the Islanders War Room are starting to look like the trash compacter scene from the 1st Star Wars
His value is plummeting...again depending on price and if part of salary is picked up, maybe Vanek or Moulson...I doubt it but I would love to see a bit more skill with G then Hartnell...again understand its not our pressing need - nonpoint22
If price went that low why not consider it. Adds scoring and a possibly a chance to resign him although very slim chance . All signs pointing to him going to minny in offseason. |

Oh come on. Shawn Matthias, the aging Swedish gingers, Alex "No goals this season" Burrows, and a crippled Kesler all look to be 40 goal scorers in that time frame. |

they needed to bite the bullet and trade Lu last year
holding out, they royally screwed up, and probably cost Gillis his job |

Hemsky is better than so it may not be great value, but they needed depth in their bottom 6 really badly. |
