MacDonald is a SOLID upgrade over Mez ... and will be re-signed ... so yeah, he's definitely worth the 2nd and Mez.

Because a 2nd and a prospect is more than a 2nd and a 3rd? Don't know about that, especially since we don't know who the prospect is.

Also, considering a) the Flyers didn't need Vanek, b) Vanek most likely will hit free agency regardless of where he's dealt, c) the Flyers needed D help, and d) the Flyers can certainly re sign McDonald for a reasonable price, I think it is pretty cool.

He had a good WJC, but his season performance isn't exactly great with 9 points in 40 games in the SHL...Cousins dominated the OHL, has struggled in AHL. Similar to Collberg

I think he's higher than that, but Montreal has a better prospect pool than us.

Can never have enough scoring depth, should have made a run for Vanek especially at that price. But whatever, guessing Homer likes the team as it stands.
