mez +1 macdonald -19
- 2Real

Mac also played on the top 2 pairings of a poopty team. He was seeing other teams' best, and he had that rock solid Islanders team around to help him out.

Come on. Stop trolling.

MacDonald is a solid pickup for the price as is. Factor in a conditional pick that can be no less than a 3rd via Mez to Bos, AND the fact that it seems likely he will be signed for a few years...good on Homer.

Depending on how deep the Bruins get in playoffs, Meszaros pick can jump to 2nd round.

Doesn't getting close to equal value for a 4/5 dman type, and a first line scoring winger make Snow a magician?

He can make things disappear, I suppose.

To be fair though.. Mez was sheltered from tough matchups and Mac was out there against the most difficult on a pretty bad team..

Some of those were pretty recent. Vlasic, McDonagh are fresh... A-Mac isn't anywhere near their league.

Those guys were also staying with a familiar team. We're trying to hold on to a rental.

Mez is a defenseman who can't play defense anymore and would not have been resigned.
- Feanor

are we guaranteed to resign mac donald?

Homer says he wants MacDonald with the #Flyers for the long haul. In other words, he will try to sign him before he becomes UFA,

More so than we were to resign future HOFer Meszaros.

If they play the Pens and/or it means the Flyers will get a better draft pick, then I have no problems rooting for the Bruins

Flyers beat guys, per Holmgren. Could also end up being two picks. Homer can't give full details until trade call is done.

Any chance it's just a 3rd, and the other part is Patrice Bergeron?

Word is the Bruins are allowing Mez to wear #4 because he best represents that number in Bruins history.

Awesome. Let's hope MacDonald goes from 600K to the 4.5 million range.

Then why don't you wait and see what happens before condemning the trade as a colossal failure?

Misread a text, sorry. Both picks, MTL's 2nd and the #Isles 2015 5th, are conditional. If Habs miss playoffs, no picks change hands.

So he's worse than Gustafsson, but if he signs you're OK with it?

That's kinda bi-polar, even for you

If not us, then them -- I'm not ashamed to say it. Possibly a second and another pick for Andrej Meszaros?

If/when the Flyers are eliminated, I will be rooting for Peter Chiarelli like I was his son

If he likes it and wants to stay at a reasonable rate, then fine. But if he's hell bent on getting open-market rate, I don't care what they gave up to get him, I would hope Homer would move on.

A-Mac isn't bad, but he's not anywhere near as good as Hjalmarsson, Ericsson, Vlasic and other guys in the $4M+ range. $3M+ is more than fair for a player of his history and skill set.

True, but Callahan also isn't worth what he was demanding.
