I agree. The team needs more balance throughout the lineup. MacDonald will bring that with his all around game.

I'm excited for his first Matt Carle gaff and the ensuing barrage of insults that will be thrown at Homer

15 minute mark of the 1st period. Exit pass right on the tape of Backstrom, and this board will explode.

I love how everybody debating what defenseman is gonna leave...It pretty apparent to me that they will deal Mez for mid round pick and be done with it

Not to mention that Schenn is still the only RH'er on the back-end... MacDonald didn't help at all in that regard.

Grossmann's got bad knees and a concussion history, too.

If Grossmann can get you a 2nd or 3rd then why not deal him instead?

Because I'm STILL scarred from the dismemberment of our defensive corps in the 2004 playoffs (yes, that was the one where Sami Kapanen suited up on D in the final game)... I wouldnt trade any of our current D... in fact, if I were GM, I'd probably add three or four more defensemen if I could.

Oh I see your point and I would in a heartbeat, (not a big Grossmann fan), I just think we are over evaluating what is most likely gonna happen because it makes the most sense

Contrary to popular belief, there are teams who value physical, defensive defenseman in the playoffs. I could see him being a fit in San Jose. They need a crease clearer and have several puck movers already.

Haven't you heard? We never have good goalies... The notes from 2010 say it! It's right there!

$10-12M locked into AMac and Niskanen might send me over the edge.

And TSN said Chicago or Pittsburgh today (qualified with "but doesn't really make sense").

And Marty Biron just said -- I can't see why anyone would trade for him.

Oh--I can't wait for Brodeur to just go away forever.

The cap keeps going up so much every year. Overpayments don't look as bad after a few years.

Unless something is seriously wrong with Emery..I dont understand why anyone would link us with a goaltender...Force of habit I guess...Let me try to put the league on notice..We dont need a goalie, we got a pretty damn good one this year

You know it too.

Ek just posted that Gillis isn't getting the go ahead to deal Kesler from ownership. I guess the writing is on the wall for Gillis' future as Leafs GM.
