I admit that I don't know much about Ehrhoff. What are his strengths and weaknesses?
- JAKEw1234

Two-way player. Moves the puck well. Can run the point on the PP and can play on the PK. He's not a shutdown defenseman, but he's not someone you need to worry about. He's pretty mobile too. He's a lot like Timonen.

This is just my opinion of him. Others may feel differently, but I like him.

They could definitely use another defenseman. I still think Ehrhoff is the best of the three and the best fit. His cap hit is below $4M
- PhillySportsGuy

i'd rather spend more to grab niskanen than lose a first rounder

great possession player

corsi folks love him

he is a fluid skater, good passer
a bit small
booming shot
can quarterback a PP

real good fit here I think

negatives, maybe soft?
signed to 20 year deal

edit leight to psg

cap hit is very good value

I know. I'm torn on it. Niskanen is having a great year, but he has bust potential. He's incredibly inconsistent from year to year.

Looking at that roster, a defenseman is going to be traded in the off season. And Scott Laughton is likely going to be assigned to the AHL coming out of training camp.

You think Laughton will be assigned for cap reasons or because he's not ready?

Agree on the D.
Just wonder who it is going to be.

Not certain about Laughton though.
Odds are AHL to start.

Not sure on the back up goalie, Gus being back, Hall coming back, signing Amac (this seems likely to get done), or getting a big UFA like Niskanen.

Feel pretty sure they are going to bring back Raffl.

I just put those guys in the line up to see what kind of room they have to bring in a big signing on D.

Seems like there is room for it.

Cap reasons. But if he plays well enough to make the team, he will be in the opening game lineup.

None of us can accurately predict the exact roster. But it was a good hypothetical roster to give an idea of what it could look like. The names may change some, but just looking at that picture, Laughton would be assigned to the AHL coming out of camp.

Can you explain the cap advantage of having him start in the AHL?

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but it isn't obvious to me.

So if Mez resigns with Boston before the draft the Flyers get a 3rd if he signs after the draft a 4th. goes to FA deals stands. I like it.

do you want Niskanen?
He's about the best one left I think.

He's not a difference maker really so I'm not splurging on him, no.

Who knows? Obviously, they will get Seidenberg back, but they could catch lightning in a bottle with Mez, he does enough with them that they bring him back.

He's not...awful. He just didn't fit on the Flyers roster.
