That is his AAV, but he is on an EL deal with performance bonuses. And the Flyers are using the bonus cushion. |

I see
so trade Grossman, start Laughton in the AHL, and don't sign Niskanen
you into the Silmarillion? - Marc D
Yes, although I stick with this username most places just so I don't have to remember different ones. It seems to be a big deal here, though. Maybe I can change it to LindrosLover93 or something.
Looking at that roster, a defenseman is going to be traded in the off season. And Scott Laughton is likely going to be assigned to the AHL coming out of training camp. - MJL
I agree. I would call Laughton and Alt up as soon as Pronger is on LTIR and there's cap room to do so.
FORWARDS
Scott Hartnell ($4.750m) / Claude Giroux ($8.275m) / Jakub Voracek ($4.250m)
Brayden Schenn ($3.000m) / Vincent Lecavalier ($4.500m) / Wayne Simmonds ($3.975m)
Michael Raffl ($0.735m) / Sean Couturier ($1.750m) / Matt Read ($3.625m)
Jay Rosehill ($0.675m) / Adam Hall ($0.600m) / Zac Rinaldo ($0.750m)
DEFENSEMEN
Braydon Coburn ($4.500m) / Matt Niskanen ($5.500m)
Andrew MacDonald ($4.500m) / Mark Streit ($5.250m)
Erik Gustafsson ($1.000m) / Luke Schenn ($3.600m)
Chris Pronger ($4.941m) /

I went to capgeek and its showing me what you are saying. I only looked at nhlnumbers and saw his 3.1 mill cap hit and that he's an upcoming FA and thought
oh boy here comes a big raise for this kid. my apologies.

Just so everybody's clear:
We want the Leafs to roll the Rags tonight so we can turn right around and roll the Leafs on Saturday.
Everybody good? OK, then! |

What happens if the Bruins advance to the semi-finals and Mezaros plays two thirds of their playoff games AND they resign him before the draft?
I'm sure this was posted before, but in case anyone isn't sure, the conditions on the Mez trade (per Ty, the Bruins blogger):
Though Meszaros’ initial cost is a third round pick, there are conditions to the trade, and boy are they complex. The 2014 third rounder becomes a 2014 second rounder if the B’s advance to the Eastern Conference Finals and if the 6-foot-2 Meszaros plays in two-thirds of the Bruins’ playoff contests. If re-signed by Boston, it can become even more complex. If re-signed before the draft, the Flyers get a second round pick. If re-signed after the draft, Philly gets an additional fourth round pick. - FlyerGuy

The AHL or back to Oshawa for an over age season (this is the least likely option) |

He's rarely played wing.......it's really been center & the point on power plays. |

It's not about making the team or not. It's about cap maneuvering possibilities.

Oshawa for a 5th Junior Season? I doubt that.
