So he can get playing time in Rochester. When you have guys like Sulzer and McBain on the roster you can't put McNabb in that context.

Because they felt he was better off in Rochester playing with guys closer to his age and being successful than dealing with all the crap and turmoil that's going on here. It's the same reason they sent Pysyk back down.

Not that I wouldn't prefer Mcnabb over Scott, but hopefully Scott isn't a long term answer and its not as if we don't have a plethora of defensive prospects.

Mcnabb got several opportunities to play for the big boys. Obviously he never impressed.

Hopefully he works out for LA.. But I'm not sure how some are twisting this into a great loss.

He LOVES McNabb so I'm sure he's pumped. He's talked about him a lot over the last year. Thinks he's a guy with very few holes in his game and for the life of him cant understand why he wasn't up here.

Even if he turns out, it could be a matter of environment. Even Ted Nolan and Pat LaFontaine, who seem to worship the type of player he is, weren't even sold on him. It could just be a matter of he never was going to be as good as he could be here, even if he got more NHL time.

One can skate, one has size. Other than that they aren't really better or worse than eachother. The fact that we gave up picks with McNabb shows that he's not that highly regarded for someone who's at that age

Of course he's not Pronger but he can be a guy that gets you 25-30 points, plays 18 mins a game, be on your second PP and PK, will fight and stand up for teammates.....that PLUS 2 seconds for two D level prospects? Sorry, hate the deal. Hope I'm proved wrong down the road. I'll gladly eat crow.

this is like wanting a PSP and getting an original Game Boy. I think its deflating. We need McNabb for a few more years as the young D men are not ready and wont be for another 2 years. Risto maybe can play next year
