yes moving out 2 2nds for a former 3rd and a former 4th round pick, not many players from those rounds make much of anything in the NHL.

Seeing the return on Moulson makes me think the team should have at least offered him a contract to stay. I'm not saying he would have accepted it, but I'd overpay a 30 goal scorer any day before dumping him for two 2nd's. I think Murray assumed he'd get a ransom and came up well short.

All of the above, with Snow getting the worst of it. But they at least tried to sign vanek. Where was the harm in offering a contract to Moulson? Worst case is he says no and we take what we got. But now we sit here with the same return we got for R.Regehr and I just feel like it was short sighted on Buff's part.

Not buying that. Murray said he was not having any contract talks with ufa's prior to deadline. And if he changed his mind today it's still his own error to not have done it a week ago. Look, Murray made some good moves but we can call out his misses as well
