Not necessarily - that is pretty much the standard length of coaching deals nowdays.

If Gillis goes Torts goes. If Gillis stays still have to look at moving torts. Somebody should be held accountable for the terrible season.

If the Aquilini family insists on being as involved in decision making for hockey transactions (as is rumored), they need to go too. I think it was Tessier who tweeted that Crawford & Nonis had to go to them & basically say "let us do our jobs or fire us" back when they were here. Ridiculous.

Those deals look horrible now don't they? If this isn't a anomaly for them AND Burrows, we are screwed for 4 years minimum.

I've ragged on Gillis quite a bit and believe his days should be numbered, but I have to say that standing pat in the face of less than ideal offers was the right move. Also, putting aside how badly he screwed up the Luongo situation, the trade yesterday wasn't bad. Markstrom may yet turn into a stud and Matthias as third line centre and bumping Richardson to fourth improves the Canucks a bit. They may actually win a few games.

1 yr ago we had 9.3 mil in goalies today we have 1.95 + 800K for Lu.

Coaching and injuries piled onto the natural decline of our core players. Who're still good players. Lack of depth is what really killed the team if you look at it honestly. That lies directly on GMMG's doorstep.

Up until the end of December the team was doing ok

My opinion is , every year a team should bring in one new guy and ship off one old guy. This way the youth gets on the job training and shouldn't effect the core.

Next year would be an ideal year to play the youth. If we drop to bottom three then we are in the McDavid sweeps and pick up a franchise player.

I personally am looking forward to cheering against the Canucks for the rest of the year.



I am 110% behind in #tanknation: sit the Sedins to rest up for next year. As well as sit Kesler and Booth to prevent injuries until we can figure out to do with them this off-season. This year is a complete write off as fair as I'm concerned.

Leafs - 5-7 yrs?
Edm - same
Flames- same
1 playoff appearence between those 4 in the last 7 years? and that was a shorted lock-out season.
