Well, that was pretty unexciting. Shipping out Lu was a thing, I guess, but no follow up on the season that looks lost is kind of lame. |

I feel your pain I'm a leafs fan after all . I thought they would have shipped kesler out but the draft is probably a better time. |

Realistically. We have a playoff team. Very tough division, But we are playoff team It doesnt help with the injuries weve had ad such.
Will thus team make the playoffs? I highly doubt it. But Im on these boards to talk Canucks simply because Im a diehard fan, And not your next door neighbour who decides to cheer once they make the playoffs.
I love Kesler and truly belive he hates it here, and he needs to go.
He is an American who wants to play in "Murica"
If so. So be it. But I think the Canucks and our dumbass GM should have done it now before the draft. If thats when the move happens were getting less than what Gillis is asking for.
AKA. We are fukked.
Ive tried my hardest to defend this team on behalfof Mike Gillis for a few years. But I have lost all expectations and Im waiting for the Mike Keenen Era to take over again.
Gillis it only took you 3 years to go from a god to and absolute villian. And when you trademaway played this summer please include your contrat. I have lost all hope, And frankly am embaressed for this city
As if I dont nee to be embaressed enough

Botchford is reporting that ANA was offering Etem and a 1st and a 2nd for Kesler. Still not enough. |

Vatanen instead of a 2nd probably would have made it interesting for Gillis. |

Let me get this right. You've lost all hope, but realistically we have a playoff team. Welcome to the bipolar club. |

Definately was missing a piece or two, especially for a division rival. Murray didn't want to give up anything more from his roster. OTT's first would have helped as well. |

That as well. Teams were trying to bend over Gillis big time today. If your team sucks and you get bullsh!t offers from other GM's, I'd probably be on the golf course as well. |

Whats the deal wit Gaunce? I know he's being used in a defensive role, but under a PPG for his age/size in junior is pretty discouraging, especially if he's on the PP. |

From apparently a poster who knows someone from inside the organization...
" Hearing some interesting things today. Contradicts a lot of other stuff. Apparently the deal for Luongo is identical to the deal they were offered last year but ownership said absolutely no to a salary hold back. Was also the reason the Leaf deal fell through. Water boy was adamant that they would not retain salary. MG tried to get this deal done so he could keep CS."
Not sure if it's legit, but I'm really starting to blame Aqulini more than Gillis here. |

This made me lol. 11th of 14 teams, but realistically still a playoff team. not only is vancouver currently 22nd in the NHL, they could be passed by 3 teams if they win their games in hand. That would put them just outside the draft lottery.
The rapid decline of the sedin's, the overall horribleness of Edler, the lack of secondary scoring, and arguably the biggest bonehead gm/loudmouth coach makes it look like a slow rebuild for the nucks fans.
Cheers! - GardinerExpress

Yeah, I was initially pissed when he didn't get moved based on the rumours we were hearing. Now that the truth is coming out about the PK'r offers we were getting, it was probably smart to hold onto to him until the draft.
Fingers crossed he doesn't get injured in the meantime. |

Jason Botchford @botchford
"Hey, we offered some draft picks, how the hell didn't we get Ryan Kesler?"
Jason Botchford @botchford
"Hey, I just bought a tailored suit, why the hell am I not sleeping with kate upton?"
Pretty much sums it up for the Nucks today. |

I think Aquilini's hand in all of this has been obvious all along... and it really pisses me off. Meddling (frank)er.
Doesn't excuse Gillis' s inability to talk sense into him... You'd think an arrogant ex-agent would be better at knowing how to make his case & get his way. |
