I don't disagree, but to assess and revoke a punishment like that is frustrating. If I'm Vancouver, I expect the league should be so forgiving when Luongo retires and earns them a cap recapture penalty.

I understand and agree about the part about rescinding a punishement already handed out. But the NHL didn't think this through. Just like they didn't think throught the loopholes left in the last CBA. And it's the same with the recapture rule. They want to punish teams who were smart and used the rules to their advantage.

How exactly did it happen? What team of people built the batman suit, but then never questioned why they were building one (the original was a prototype from years before, so no one would recognize it, especially when spraypainted)? Wouldn't they be curious as to why they were following a schematic of a Batman suit and building one?

The guy works for Wayne Enterprises, or whatever it's called. Confidentiality clauses abound, I would guess, and most of the employees would probably have been brought in through certain gov't agencies where security clearances were in place. I'm sure they were thoroughly vetted.
